newbie getting into the sport
hello i am 14 almost 15, and i went and bought a cheap 30$ paintball marker the other day.I didn't no if i would like it,but me and my brother played and i fell in love with it. so i have some questions that i hope some of you can answer.
what is a good gun, that is light, small, shoots fast, accurate, dependable, easy to clean. i would love a autococker but, heard they can be trouble. i am willing to learn, and my best friends uncle owns a paintball field, so he could teach me some stuff about cockers.what are some good ones that arent way to much. i was thinking of getting a orracle [after i save up]but i want a cheaper end cocker, so i can learn about them and i can play with till i get another higher end 1.
what is a good air tank, that can hold plenty of air or nitro or hpa or whatever u use with cockers.but i want 1 that i can use with the lower end cocker and the higher end cocker that is if a cocker is the gun for me?
what is some good knee pads [i have bad knees] and elbow pads, and throat callar, i no they make them i dont no if that is what they are called tho.i cant get any bruises on my left arm so i need some suggestions to keep it safe
what is a good barrel that is accurate i could put on my gun that is when i get a gun haha
what companie makes some good pods and a good pod harness
what are some good goggles that are protective
what is a good hopper that will feed paintballs fast
i no this is alot of stuff i dont no if all this stuff above is all the stuff u need for paintball if there is anything i left out please tell me some more stuff i will need and please tell me some of the best stuff and some of the good stuff that isnt as exspensive and can u shoot a autococker right out of the box or do u have to do stuff to it before you can play with it

All your questions can be found by searching www.xpaintball.com.
A good hopper would be the Empire Reloader B, feeds really fast. A good mask with good googles would be the Profiler.

Cruise around the hoppers, barrels, and other equipment forums. U will quickly learn which we prefer (and why) also how they cost and what to do to fix the things. Prepare to spend lots of money if u want good gear. There are bargians out there, but not many.
Dye makes good pads i think. Same w/ JT. Um redz and many others make throat protectors, brand doesn't matter.
For ur arm? Um, maybe wrap it w/ something kinda soft. Try wearing a sweatshirt. Also make sure to spend money on a namebrand mask (like dye, proto, jt, its very important to have a good mask)
If ur set on cockers, then buy one used. Resale is down so u can get nice electronic ones for ~$500 on ebay of pbnations b/s/t forums.

I would stay away from Autocockers, they are generally a big head-ache. You could be a Autococker tech and still find your Autococker to be un-reliable. When Autocockers work you love them, but when you hear that itty-bitty leak coming from some corner of your marker you just want to pick it up by the barrel and throw it like a boomerang.
Instead I suggest getting a used Intimadator (Timmy) from a forum. You can find them pretty cheap.

Get a 68/4500 high pressure tank. Some companies I would suggest are Crossfire, Centerflag, MacDev, and Nitroduck.
what is some good knee pads [i have bad knees] and elbow pads, and throat callar, i no they make them i dont no if that is what they are called tho.i cant get any bruises on my left arm so i need some suggestions to keep it safe
I hear Dye knee-pads are good, and I would suspect Empire knee-pads to rock also.
what is a good barrel that is accurate i could put on my gun that is when i get a gun haha
I suggest a CP 1 Piece or Dye Ultralite barrel. Get what-ever length you find most comftorable. Get the largest bore size possible.
what companie makes some good pods and a good pod harness
Dye and Empire.
what are some good goggles that are protective
V-Force makes great masks.
what is a good hopper that will feed paintballs fast
Halo B or Reloader B. Both are extremely fast.

1) You can get a Prostock cocker new for I think $350 which isn't too bad. I don't own a cocker, but I have heard they can be a bit of work, but if you are willing to learn, you will be fine. But, mech cockers can be slow in the ROF area, so you may want to look into an Indian Creek Design BKO or B2k which are both electronic so they will fire faster.
2) Good air tanks are Crossfire, and the new MacDev preset looks pretty nice. 68/4500 Fiber wrapped is probably the most common tank, and holds plenty of air, and isn't too big, and are light. Just purchase a high pressure preset and you should be fine with a low end or high end cocker, and pretty much all other markers out there.
3) Good knee pads/elbow pads would be Redz, Dye, Empire, anything namebrand is pretty decent, but if you have bad knees you might want to spend a little more and just get the very best you can find, which I don't know what they would be. As for neck protecter, I have no clue, the only ones I have actually seen are 32 Degrees and I believe it was an extreme rage one, and they looked to be pretty decent. I don't know what you should do about the arm, it really depends on how important it is that you not get a bruise on it, if it is extremely important you would want a thick padding of somesort.
4) To have "accuracy" in paintball you must have a good paint to bore match, meaning that your paintballs don't roll out your barrel, and arn't so big in there that its difficult to blow them out. A barrel kit is the way to go when chosing a barrel, they come with many backs so you can just try out all your backs with the paint you are using and just use the one that seems to best fit the paint.
5) Good pods and harnesses are again pretty much name brand things are pretty good. I mainly see: Redz, Dye, some Empire, and some NXe. I have a blackstar that I got free, and I like it quite a bit. As for pods, I am not sure, look in the Anything Else form and in the comparing some major pods thread, there is some useful info in there.
6) Goggles are pretty much preference, people like the feel of different things, I myself have a V-force Profiler, and I love it, it feels very comfy to me. Some other big ones are Dye Invisions, and JT Proflexes.
7) Good hoppers are: Viewloader Revolution: around 12 bps feed rate considered lower profile, Empire Reloader: same thing as a revolution but sound activated and the II one has a different shape, Viewloader Evolution II AKA Egg, Eggolution: a bit tall and bulky, around 17 bps feed rate, Halo B: 22 bps forced feed a bit on the bulky side though, Empire Reloader B, pretty much a Halo B with a Ripdrive kit, and its sound activated wheras Halo has eyes, and the Q loader: It is a system of basically pods with springs in them that push the balls into a feedtube which is connected to the feedneck and goes into the marker like any other loader, considered very low profile, I believe top feed rate is 32 bps.
Edit: Looks like I got beat too it, Ill just leave this up anyways incase there is any info the others didn't cover.

Autocockers arent hard work at all. You can learn how to do everthing in one day if you really want. The upside is that their resale value is cheap, so you can definately find a used one in good shape if you look around a bit, but since your newer, I would start out with a new one...on a clean slate if you will...to ensure there is absolutely nothing wrong.
IM me if you have any questions, i will help you out all I can. Also, check around in the autococker forum through the stickies, and post some questions...well work with you.
If autocockers dont seem like they are for you, i would go with a Tippman 98 Custom...easily the best entry level marker...or if your going for something a little faster/higher end...Indian Creek Designs BKO or B2K like zynister stated.
_Good luck.

if you are just getting into to paintball the n i suggest you get a tippmann custom 98 with a 20 oz tank and 14 inch barrel, while its no autococker , it will be a great gun untill you get enough money for a decent cocker. ive been playing for 5 or 6 years and i started with a brass eagle tigershark , then went to a stingray , then to a m98 and added a 14 inch whisper barrel pro team expansion chamber , 20oz tank with on/off , and a car stock. i have had absolutly no problem with this gun it has kept up with all the spyders and 15's all my friends have and has worked better.(it has never broken down once) but just this past week i bought my first high end gun , a brand new agd tac one. i like it its a great woods gun. i think you should start small and work your way up. just my .02

it depends if you are looking into playing rec ball (woods, scenarios, etc.) or speedball (xball, hyper ball, etc.) for red ball you would be better off with the Tippman 98 Custom...for speedball i wouldnt get an autococker though...if you arent looking into spending too much then you could get an electro Spyder (Pilot, Fenix) new for a low price (i have a fenix...look in my signature for my set up)...if you are looking for a higher end gun then you could get a B2K4 w/ PDS for a low price...the b2k5's are also coming out so you can get those...Smart Parts Impulse is an alright gun but in my opinion isnt as good as a b2k4
for the barrels the best brands (in my opinion) are:
Dye (boomstick, ultralight)
Custom Products (cp 1 piece, 2 piece)
Smart Parts (progressive, teardrop, Freak, all-american)
Evil (Evil Pipe...kit or 1 piece barrel)
If you buy used make sure you look around for better deals and ask for feedback from the person that you are buying from...also dont buy anything from someone if they dont have a picture of it
hope this helps

Your opinion is wrong! jk obviously, but most people will disagree with you. Dye makes some of the best standalone barrels. SP's barrel systems aren't even anywhere near the greatest.
