I am a newbie to the sport. How is this gun, anyone know. I will be starting with a few friends for fun and we may get serious down the road. I have a real AR-15, and i gotta have this. Any feed back for a first gun? They state it fires 13 rnd per second.

its not crap. but a 98 custom has a wider variety of upgrades.

also to let you know, the other gun is a tippmann too from what other ppl have told me

basically that gun is just like a 98 custom kinda only with better looks, and a better barrel. it may have a few other things but thats the main points. oh and a stock.

if your into milsim and woodsball then go for this or the other tippmans.

If your gonna want to play speedball and stay away from dressing up like your in the army then skip this, and go strait to a Spyder Imagine for a good starting gun.

lionheart dont even bother trying to get around the filter, u'll just piss off the mods. Yeah, that gun u posted is just a modded out 98c by tippmann, and is ultimatley made by tippmann. Get the 98c, not a A-5 if ur looking that way. 98cs can be great rec guns for only a few hundred in ups. Like $300 for a full kit. R/T, revvy, good barrel.

opsgear has some pretty good milsim conversion kits for tippmanns if you want to check that out. but what bobide said (98c kit) would be a really good start up kit for you. I suggest a 12-14 inch J&J ceramic barrel.

or you can buy my vert feed cocker.its a good woods gun and speedball gun and if you decide to get serious down the road its very upgradable and you can eblade it

yeah id get a tippy, BTW BTs are tippmanns they stand for ben tippmann. heh im so smart

if u wanna get serious buy the cocker, butt makesure u learn about them first, u can mess those things up horribly, but if u operate em right, there perfect

Well here are the guns that I have seen in my area.
Kingman- Spyder Xtra, Imagine S
Piranah Blvf, and STS(Both are a combo package)marker, tank, hopper, and mask
Tippman-98 custom

The combo packs seem like a good deal $159-179 for all but fuel and balls to shoot
I hear that the Tippman 98 c is good but marker alone is $159
I can get the Kingman spyders and como for around the same price as the Piranah como.

Do you all suggest one of the combo packages(Kingman,Piranah) to see if my wife and I will like the sport before we jump in with the expensive Tippmans? I have friends that will get into it, so what do you guys think. If you suggest a combo package which would be the best of the two Spyder guns or Piranah guns??

I would suggest the imagine package over the Tippmann package. The Imagine is capable of doing anything the Tippmann is and much more, making it more versatile. It will perform just as well in the woods as the Tippmann, and will be much more effective than the Tippmann in speedball. Get yourselves some Imagine packages and you'll be doing fine.

Personally I would get the Spyder or the Piranha I am sort of drawn to the Piranha because this is what I have, but the Imagine is a great gun and I have shot an Imagine and with ups it can be a great gun. Diffently get one of those two im not a huge fan of Tippmanns.

ok the tippmann is a very very very very upgradeable gun and will probably move up with your skill untill your at pro level then its time to get a better gun even though your tippmann still sits in your bag as a backup

Tippmanns are upgradeable but not to the extent your saying pink paint. It could bring you up until pro level but you would have to be an amazing player as it simply doesnt perform nearly s well as any of the other guns after its upgraded comparablly. Ill elaborate on this more later if anyone wants me too.

So would this be too much for my first gun? Could I keep up with the guys that have Spyders and Piranahs? We are all just starting out and not pros, but I own an AR-15 and I keep coming back to this gun.
