Another Noob Question.
Hello, I've heard this term a lot over the past few weeks in various sections of the forums. So, I'd like to know what it means to "chrono" your gun. Please explain in semi-simple details, seeing as how I don't know THAT much about paintball yet.

Chrono means to chronograph your gun. To determine the velocity at which it is shooting paintballs. You need to chrono your gun to ensure that you are not shooting 'hot'. Shooting hot is shooting above the limit that your field has in place to prevent injuries. You also chrono your gun to ensure that you are not shooting at too low a rate of fps (feet per second). If your paintballs aren't being shot at a high enough velocity then they will not be able to go as far.

That is not true for all fields. Shooting hot is shooting above whatever limit is imposed by the owner of the field you happen to be playing on at that time.

280 is dumb. I had fun fuggin my cockers settins so i could shoot that low and stay that low. Could never get it sweetspotted to shoot 295-298 again.
and then 250 wow. It was a night game thoug.
300 is the Main cut off anything above that is dangerous.

what that does is it measures the speed your balls fly at in FPS or feet per second. the limit to this in paintball is 300, however, most fields limit at 280. when you play indoors it usually can go down to like 240. this is adjusted simply by the turn of an allen wrench.
