Steam rose in clouds from the dense undergrowth of the tropical island forest as Dr. Kim Lung attempted to read his notes through foggy lenses. For the sixtieth time that day Dr. Lung removed his spectacles and cleaned the lenses on his dirty shirt.
“Hot enough for you, Doc?” Colonel Nunn asked sarcastically.
“You know,” the doctor answered as he replaced his glasses, “when the United Nations Council for Remains Recovery asked me to come and head up this team, Colonel, they said nothing to me about needing to bring my air conditioner.”
The colonel laughed and clapped the Dr. on the shoulder. “Well, Doc, it wouldn’t have done you any good. There’s no electricity on this island anyway.”
Suddenly, one of the diggers came running over the ridge with a disheveled notebook in his hand. “Doctor! Doctor! We unearthed the cockpit section of a B-29 bomber. Inside we found the remains of a pilot and co-pilot along with this notebook. It’s the pilot’s journal. Read the mission statement.”
The Doctor scanned the lines for a moment and the color drained out of his sweaty countenance. He sickly passed the notebook to Col. Nunn. The Colonel read the contents aloud.
“Aug. 7th, 1945. Our mission is a grave and deadly one. We fly into Japanese airspace to drop the second of three atomic bombs on the Empire of Japan. The first of these bombs, christened Little Boy, was dropped yesterday over Hiroshima. Today we will strike deeper into the Empire as a show of US force. The payload, code named Middle Man, will undoubtedly cause enormous loss of life. I keep telling myself that it is all in the name of the greater peace… I only hope that God will forgive us for what we are about to do.”
The digger broke the uncomfortable silence. “We started looking for the rest of the fuselage but a group of Nuri Raiders fired on us and drove us off.”
“Raiders?” The doctor gasped in confusion.
“That’s why the UN made sure you had troops with you, Doc. The Nuri are a band of pirates and terrorists that cruise these islands. They’re not very well organized, but you can bet that if they think there’s profit to be made they’ll be here in force.”
“We’ve got to make sure that we find that bomb before they do. If we can assume that Middle Man is bigger than Little Boy… Colonel, over a hundred thousand people died in the blast… thousands more from radiation poisoning. Even at sixty years old…”
“I’m with you, Doc. I’m going to activate all the peacekeepers and brief them to get ready. You call in all your people for a head count and I’ll arm them. This just went from an archeological dig to a military operation.” The colonel smiled. “How are you with a gun, Doc?”
The doctor did not smile back. “I’ve never fired one in my life.”
On a hill two miles away a Nuri Raider named General Kumatzu grinned evilly at the prisoner his scouts brought him.
“You do not wish to tell me, digger, what it is that you are looking for. Let me assure you, digger, after my man Tang has some time with you, you will tell me everything for which you search… right before you beg me to end your agonizing life…”

This event will be held in Fingerville, SC Feb, 25-26.
It is a 24 hr. event.
Cost for the game is $45 if pre-registered by Feb 8th, $60 through Feb 9th through event date.
Paint will be Karnage $65 for a case of Karnage bite, $75 for a case of karnage tear. Pre-register and receive a $5 coupon off your first case of paint.
This game is gonna be amazing, it's being held a a hunting lodge with cabins, showers, and a lounge room complete with a fireplace and pooltables and various other entertaining things.
Me and some of my buddies are making the trip from Ohio down to play. So I hope to see you there!
