Joe Biden looks good at first glance. But then again it is just a first glance

No, 538 members of the Electoral college who are not required to vote in accordinance with the popular vote.
Also, the winner takes all **** is ****ed up to.
Ok, mississippi has 8 votes, 2 senators, 6 reps, 8 total votes
California has like 55, well if 28 electors vote for hillary in cali, all 55 votes go to hillary, when the other 27 can be combined with mississippi's 8 votes to go against it.
So basically, if u did away with the winner take all system, the voting would probably change drastically. Because instead of candidate a getting 55 votes, candidate a would only get 28 vs the remaining 27 votes for candidate b combined with mississippi's 8, meaning 28<35 so the other candidate b would actually be winning.
But the electoral college system is just plain out ****ed up.

Don't you see the flaw in your argument though? Or maybe I'm interpreting it wrong, but with no EC, each election would be decided by California and New York.

I actually remember saying this (maybe not on this board) more than a year ago. There are a lot of crazy people that will not accept a woman president. Hell, I'm sure the same ones wouldn't be too hot over a black guy, either.
When a Democrat wins this election, I think it's going to start some crazy **** in America.
If a Republican somehow wins, we'll just continue the slow slide we're on.

No one really had a problem with the EC until 2000... It's actually a very effective system. When was the last time we had massive protests over election results? Never would be the right answer.

Secret Societies
The most common of which are Skull & Bones and The Stone Masons. Almost every single president has been a confirmed member of one or the other, or both. Just because someone isn’t confirmed however doesn’t mean that they aren’t a member.
Also remember that members of these societies are CEO’s of big companies, big companies that get rich off war, oil, and pharmaceutical needs. This country was founded by Masons, and it will always be ran by Masons.

It is isn't it. That's the truth though, our government officials are members of these societies. Most high ranking people anywhere are. Every male in my mother's family except for myself and my brother Chris are members of the masons. They're all promoted in their jobs before other people that aren't members and they've always seemed to have success in everything.
I refuse to kiss ass, so i would never join one of these things. Yea, you get **** loads of money, but you trade you sense of worth in for it. No one is better than me, and i am no better than anyone else. Everyone has their talents which make up for their short comings. That's what makes us who were are.

Okay, I got what ur saying, but if we could regulate the E.C. TO where they HAVE to vote in accordinance with the popular vote and eliminate the vote requirement *Like what, 270 or so?*, just use who ever gets the most votes, and eliminate the winner take all system, 3rd party candidate voters wouldn't have to change their votes.
I dunno, there needs to be serious reforms in every aspect of government.

I believe that almost all of the time the EC members do in fact go with the popular vote.
Edit: This thread has made me re-consider a career in politics. I know a state senator (father of a friend of mine), so perhaps I will ask him how he got into politics.

I never understood big secret societies that anyone can join (like the freemasons). I mean, if anyone can be a member and everyone gets better treatment than the people who aren't members. When the entire society catches on and tries to be members it'll be as if there was no secret society.
