Like I mentioned above, I know next to nothing about this plan so don't take this as an attack but as the question it is: Has it been confirmed she plans on raising taxes to fund this plan? Perhaps she plans on cutting funding for other things in order to make money for this...?

Well it would be impossible to just find a way to get at least $5000 out of no where. And since it would be in the form of a bond, the government would actually owe more than $5000 in the future... A tax increase would be inevitable. I don't think giving couples $100,000 is a good idea. Like someone said, we have to stop letting people think that they can rely on the government, because the fact is, the government cannot and should not babysit you.
It isn't our government's job to help you when you lose your job. It isn't our government's job to help you when you can't afford to raise a baby.
My quality of living should not be forced to go down just because there are whores out there popping babies out every chance they get. |

The job that I plan to work for doesn't pay into a social security fund it has its own retirement deal set up. State jobs ftw.

 My dad is set up to retire through Railroad Retirement - doesn't matter when he retires (60 and up), he gets the same amount, unlike SS. Far better benefits, too.

yeah when I retire I will be receiving 90% of my base pay every year for the rest of my life. I believe you can start collecting anytime once you've been on the job for 30+ years, or when you turn 55
