Your view on Illegal Immigration
Tell me.
What downsides come with it?
Anything good?
Talk about it, but make sure to back up your opinion.

The downside is they are living here tax free. If they paid some taxes I wouldn't care. There are a lot of illegal Ecuadorians where I live and they are really good work. My uncle hires them at the same wage he does his other workers occasionally.

It isn't like we don't have enough money (i know we are in serious debt but when it comes down to it, that doesnt mean ****) or resources for these people.. .

They do damn good work.
If they live here and relieve the benefits that other citizens do, they should pay taxes and make steps towards citizenship. If they are not receiving and using the benefits that other citizens have/use then no taxes are needed.
In my experience I have found that most illegal immigrants have a desire to work and work damn well. I have no problem with them as long as there is regulation to those that are using the system.

Im with Armo, living in exas we have alot of aliens. Downtown is known as the pickup place and they do amazing work for insanely cheap. Those ones dont bother me at all, they work hard and dont complain. Its the ones that od that bug me. For instance, two years ago, my town had a "Hispanic Walk Out Day" as it was called. ALl the hispanis kids at school were supposed to walk out in protest to unfair treatment of illegals.
Needless to say nothing happened

They are going about living here wrong. There are a ton of them in my town, and it really pisses me off when they take citizens jobs, but dont pay taxes.

They don't pay taxes. They can vote. And the worst punishment they can get is to be deported, when they can just turn around and come back to the US the same way they got in originally.
F that.

Its illegal. They shouldn't be hopping our borders unregulated. We should allow more immigrants in and send back the ones that enter without our permission. I'm not against immigration, just illegal immigration.

Yes they shouldn't be hopping out border. But they do.
As far as I am concerned, as long as they do not take any benefits or rights that citizens have, they can stay and not pay taxes (since they aren't doing anything that warrants taxes).
As soon as they start taking those benefits, they should take steps towards citizenship and begin paying taxes.
I have no problem with illegal immigrants. The illegal immigrants I have met and worked with have all been hard working, good people trying to make a living. The problem comes in their children. Their children (on average and from my experience) do not understand the value of hard work for a day's pay. They think that because they are here they should be handed everything. It is those children, this newer generation that causes the bad name for the rest.

Voting isn't a benefit or right of citizenship?

If they are illegal I dont think they can vote....
But the problem with the "illegals" paying taxes, is then you actually have to pay them minimum wage. Which then, will cause certain prices to increase.
My only problem, is they should learn ingles. I believe somebody mentioned the fact that we pay for when they OD and stuff. Well, it doesn't bother me to have to pay taxes for their health care(but the OD thing, eh..). I do it for thousands of lazy americans anyway, might as well help out a illegal that is at least trying to work for a living.

I didn't say it wasn't, nor did I say that they should be allowed to vote. Don't put words in my mouth (or text in my keyboard? )

im not a big fan of illegal immigration in general, but living in california i see plenty illeagls too, problem is i dont know too many people willing to perform the jobs that they do for the extremely low wages if at all, so....i guess they are usefull in that sense.

What scares me more than anything is that they are completely unmonitored. We have no idea who these people are and how many of them are living here. Yes, they may be honest, hard working people just trying to earn a living for their families. But they could also be rapists, murders, drug dealers, and criminals in general. Think about all of the American criminals who cross the border to avoid being arrested. Now consider how incredible corrupt and inadequate the Mexican legal system is.
Of course they also don't pay taxes, which scares me too. There are people living in America who gain the benefits of our health care, our education systems, our emergency services, etc., without ever paying for them. We're the ones paying for them. So basically we are giving privilege to a select group of people, and in a socialist way no less.

I think you already know the question to that answer. What's the point in asking?

What bothers me is the HUGE amount of the social services and infrastructure is being utilized by illegal immigrants. These folks crowd hospitals, demand healthcare, demand that their kids be educated in US schools (in spanish), demand entitlement programs for foodstamps and housing assistance, and all the social infrastructure WITHOUT the benefit of paying into the system. Sure they spend money and pay into sales taxes and everything, but in the words of Heinlein -- There ain't no such thing as a free lunch!.
I am against our borders being so porous. I think that there should be systems in place for legal immigration whereby the hard working aspiring worker can indeed come over here and be a productive member of the society.
This country was built on immigration, and the diverse cultural history and backgrounds of the USA make this country great. But don't sneek in here in the middle of the night and expect that I am going to be happy about it.
