OH $%^&*&&#@!!!!!
AAAARRRGHHH!!!
I just stripped out the set screw on my NME's trigger that controls the activation point. How can I get this stupid screw out WITHOUT buying a new trigger? The allen wrench size that is used is a .05 (the smallest one on a SAE allen set). Has anybody done this before? I don't want my parents to find out that I stripped the screw on my brand new gun..

so its just stuck in there tight? if you stripped the threads then you might need a new trigger. if its just stuck, then take it off and put it in a vice and unscrew it with all your might. if that doesnt work, get a new trigger.

Here's what happened: I was messing around with the trigger, trying to find a setting I liked. The activation set screw stopped moving, I don't know why (maybe a build-up of loctite). I tried to back it out, it didn't budge. I tried to screw it all the way out and I felt that all-too-familiar-"slip" of the allen wrench. I about punched a hole in the wall. The screw is stripped in both directions. There is about 1/16" of visible screw out the back of the trigger. Should I put the trigger in a vise and try to grab that little bit and rotate it out, or should I take it to the proshop and have him try to fix it........I'm so pissed off right now.......

soooo. did the the hole in the screw for the allen key just lose its shape and now the allen key isn't gripping? if so, ive heard some people have put just a little bit of super glue on them to give a secure fit and then thatll help. or if that's not the case and it just isn tmoving, id reccomend maybe seeing if the shop can fix it but if not you might need a new trigger, im sure some other people will come along with good advise soon enough for ya though.

I seriously hope so.......
About cutting the --- into the screw. Can I do that to the part that is sticking out and put a small flathead in it and try to unscrew it all the way out. After that I can take it to Lowes/ Home Depot and get several new screws. I'm gonna get some pics here in a second........

You could prolly grind a slot in the side that is sticking out and back it out that way.

Read the whole damn thread before posting.
Well, I would use a vice grip like others have suggested. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will.

It won't shatter the screw if I cut the hole and then apply too much force with the screwdriver? That is my only concern.

1. Try a wrench. Dont worry about the threads, set screws can be replaced for next to nothing.
2. Dremel a slot on the tip, and use a flathead driver to get it out. It wont shatter, so long as you dont make a huge gash.
3. If theres loctite on it, heat it with a lighter. Dont singe the trigger
