an ion doesnt NEED hpa, though you can only run anti-siphoned co2 through it, and even then it isnt recommended...i think you can use anti-siphoned co2 thru the wrath, i could and probably am wrong tho.

the wrath can use anti-siphoned co2 with less problems then a ion. I'd ask some smart wrath owners first to double check.

i just got my wrath in the mail i was going to order an ion but i dont like how the ion is put togeather and this gun is probably 100 times more durable and comfortable. and wrath shoot about 4 balls faster and there metal.

and i like how the wrath shoots way more then the ion. Plus the wrath is quick strip which makes it really easy and the conclude my review the wrath is a better speedball you could use it for woodsball. but if your debating between ion or a wrath get the wrath you will be much happier with it even though the ion is more customizable!

electro-pneumatic guns:
these are guns like the Wrath, Ion, and Bushmaster series from ICD.
Because co2 is such a dirty gas, an anti-siphon tank should be used to prevent small bits of metal and rust from entering the gas pathway and hurting the gun. co2 is also a very cold gas, however. If you acheive high rates of fire for a long period of time, the solenoid of the gun will freeze or freeze and crack. Once this happens, the gun is finished and must be sent back to the maker to have a new solenoid installed. Solenoid home-installation is not possible given the magnetizing procedure. Whether your solenoid decides to freeze and crack or not is essentially the luck of the draw, so long as you use co2. compressed air operates at the same temperature as air, because it is air. Thus, any electro-pneumatic gun will not perform better, persay, with HPA, but it will not break as a result of it as it may with co2.

buy HPA.
