Need help deciding between these markers..

Hey there. Im still new to paintball and i need help deciding on a few used markers because i just dont know enough about each one. I like buying markers that you dont see every other person having at the field. I myself have a mint condition 2008 bob long vice, and i recently bought a inspire bfg. The markers ive been looking at getting are..

a Macdev tactical drone with upgrades for $450

a Evil minion with upgraded feedneck for $100

a WDP Angel G7 Fly for $350

an Angel A1 fly rasta edition for $450

or a bob long 2001 Alien species intimidator, bone stock for $300

If you guys could share some input on which deal you think is the best and why, thanks!!

angel's gone under.

tactical drone just means camo painted drone i'm assuming...

can't go wrong with a timmy, but i don't think its worth 300.... but then again i don't look at bob guns

the tactical drone is just a milsim looking drone dx, actually has rails on it. But performs the exact same. The intimidator looks to be in pretty rough shape judging by the pics, so 300 seemed to be pretty pricey.

I think the guns you already have are perfect
But if i had to choose the timmy and the minion are real nice guns i dont really like the tactical drone

Minion 6 or 7? UL frame? If it's a Minion 7 w/ UL frame, I'd take that. I LOVE the way they shoot.

Hate the frame on the G7. However, it's basically a bulletproof design that despite Angel no longer being around will probably still last for years and years. It's not light though, and the battery may give you issues as it starts to die. However, I think there are still a couple manufacturers that make aftermarket boards for those that take 9V's.

Love the A1 Fly. One of my all time favorite poppets, if not the SINGLE all time favorite poppet. Put the dlite stem & valve body, and STR ram with the booster2 bolt, and it'll be smooth as all get out, easy to take care of, and reliable as anything made.

Not a big fan of tactical look, so the Drone I'd pass on most definitely.

Never been a huge fan of pre gen4 Timmies either. Besides, you already have one, time to move onto something else.

im not sure actually if its a 6 or 7, is one way better then the other? Only bad thing is he says it has a small leak at the macro line fittings so either it just needs a new hose or the fittings all together. Would that cost a lot or is that a pretty cheap basic fix?

this is the link to the minion...http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...AdIdZ379268190

It probrailly is less or around a $20 fix at most new fittings and a new hose

Slayer was just another verion of the o3e/o3x/rpm/The 1, being a basic stacked tube FASOR. By far the lowest performance marker in the group.

I was going to make a new post but since it would be pretty much the exact same topic but different markers, i thought id just add to this lol. Im getting bored with my bob long vice, i LOVE it and it works perfectly. I just like having a few markers to shoot lol. Ive seen a few used Angel A1 flys, or Angel G7 flys for around 400 dollars. So i was deciding between those and a brand new proto reflex rail. What would you all recommend? Ive been interested in the 2012 reflex rail but the one thing that i HEAR, is bad about it, is what i look for most in a marker, which is air efficiency. No point having a nice marker that shoots straight but only 3-4 pods on a 68/4500 lol. Id be happy with around 5 pods and a hopper. thanks!

rail should be somewhere in the 1200 range off of a 68/45, by no means super efficient but a lot better than markers of old

i have a shoebox shocker that boasts 500 off of a 68/45....

really eh! id be very happ with that. Ive only seen one efficiency test with the reflex but it was with the 2011 version, and on a 68/4500 he shot 6 pods. So i guess they made some changes :P. I had a steel tank 48/3000 and a G4 and i only got a hopper and 3 pods max and it was just frustrating because i wouldnt even last the length of the game or get hit. Walk off the field because of lack of air lol. Thing that sucks is the field i play at has a very very old world war 2 air compressor that fills to 3000 psi. So thats why i like the guns that are better on air lol

Wait until Monday?

With a little luck - and over a week to get it in stock..my PRR should be available for play some time this week. I'll be able to tell you - only being re-lubed...fresh out the box, at 280fps..how many pods I'm able to snap off.

And I use a 50... so it'll be light about a 15/45...heh

was that a mike test?

if it was you have to remember he almost never gets a full fill on his tanks and typically chronos just shy of 300fps not the field typical 285

:P. Its what makes a lot of player hate me lol, cuz im bound to hit someone with one of the 100s i shoot at them lol. Ya dprimmy let me know how it shoots and give me the 411! . I actually have a 56/4500, (old used tank i got for cheap). As long as i get a hopper and 4 pods off 3000 psi, im a happy camper.

Ok - so this wasn't as static of a test as it could have been - I didn't shoot the tank dry, because I was going up against a local "woods" team on CQB fields, and they have a tendency to shoot hot and play dirty. I had to refill after games.

I also took my marker apart in advance and did a bit of a better lube job on the bolt than Dye did - as I'm usually not happy with the amount of lubricant ANY company puts on anything... (Planet Eclipse seems to be the only going exception, as both Chikin's and my Etek's (3&4 - purchased about 8 months apart)came in top condition for the firing mechanisms. Didn't touch the regulators).

So - Firing in a stock setup - hovering in the 270's with less than 2k shots on the regulator - using a Dye Rotor (Dye speed feed, stock size - and a 50/45 tank, stock barrel, DXS Silver paint, 95-100% humidity and approx 80-90F throughout the day...and I probably don't need mention much else...

I was getting a mostly full Rotor, and about 1.5-1.75 140 round pods off of 1500psi.

so..to give you a bit more info to help you make as informed of a choice as you can:

I shoot poppets. My first marker was a T98 - second a 2k3 Impulse, third an ETEK3, and now also own the PRR'12. /sings sesame street song "one of these things...is not like the other..."

Taking that all in - this is continuing down the road of "hey, this is a new experience". I like to fiddle. I like to tinker, and I like it when things aren't always working at 100% of their best - because it allows me to fiddle and tinker to get them working better.

My ETEK lacked that little bit. It worked great stock and out the box. It gave me few problems, occasionally giving me a leak out the HPR - which required a bit of cleaning and Dow33/55 to silence - but largely no issues. I went through the typical motions - trying to create problems that weren't there. Changed the trigger. Changed the rammer. Changed the bolt. I now have a pretty much fully upgraded ETEK3 - and it shoots great...and I got bored with it....

Enter PRR. It performs (efficiency aside) very nicely. The marker has a much different sound signature than my poppets. It doesn't "blak - blak blak- blak" as much. It operates quite a bit quieter. It feels lower profile.. The trigger frame is narrower and longer than the ETEK's...which is both good and bad in my eyes (and huge hands).

My first trip out - I had zero issues with the marker. This may also be a problem - but Dye is known to be awesome when it works...and...a hellion when it doesn't. It'll take me a few outings to figure out if it has problems, and when it has problems, if they're managable...though there really isn't much to F up on these either.

Things I'd like to change off the bat (played as it came, stock, semi, 12.5bps capped) - Trigger. I didn't notice it so much while out there and playing, but maybe because I was dodging paint and worrying more about how it sits different than the ETEK, thus making me wonder if I need a 68/45 for this to sit comfortably. Digress - Trigger doesn't feel right. It's bumped out - but I have a love for the scythe shape, and this trigger is wide, flat, and doesn't come near that. The Airport ASA needs to go. I don't like that a lateral moving piece of plastic is my on/off. If its not securely "on", it kicks its self "off" after one shot. Imagine troubleshooting that...yeah - no.

I liked the LED displays and grip. Easy to identify and read colors made it a breeze to understand what was going on. One jewel on the grip, and a cut-out above your thumb are steady or flashing in red or green. 2 button operation - and you're not nearly turning your marker off just to kill the eyes when they get dirty. Eye pipe was a gem. I took a rogue ball through my speedfeed, and didn't notice it til I got home. Paint everywhere. Its a miracle the eyes stayed clean.

So - FIRST LOOKS - I had a very enjoyable and pleasant experience with the PRR'12. My ETEK3 stayed in the car the entire trip, and it probably will remain there until I bring a buddy, or I have 5+ cases pushed through the PRR. Chikin liked the PRR trigger - though coming from an Azodin Blitz, most anything would be an improvement.

Also - the Dye ASA threads are 90 degrees off axis from where the PE OOPS threads are. My fill nipple now points straight up, and I need to degass my marker and turn the tank a 1/4 turn to fill it.

I don't regret the purchase - just a few things to get used to. =)

No no - I have the 3 you've seen in pictures.

My buddy (Chikin.Soup on the forums) bought a 4 as an upgrade from his Blitz. I was able to play with it this last weekend - so I can say I've shot, and give opinions on it
