I would have to agree will Alpha and I saw the video of the rap4 and it retails for about 400$ and you get realistic loading action where the other casings pop out like a real gun. And the cO2 tank is in the stock I mean if you look at it you couldn't even tell the difference. Anyways I think you get more bang for your buck if you buy a rap4

Exactly. Also, how many fields are going to allow you to USE it. It doesn't use .68 paint; it uses .43 as I recall. Unless the field is BYOP & you like using trying to find places that sell .43 paint, the SIM-4 is more bang for your buck.

As for you're getting a SIM-4 zman, I'd suggest a remote system. As I mention before the gun is heavy, and sling or not your arms will probably be feeling it the next day if you play all day (i know mine did).

well most of the problems I had stemmed from a few problems. Let me try to explain a bit more thoroughly.

When I disassembled my gun to oil it, inspect it, etc. I accidentally left the ball detent out. This left 3 or 4 balls just rolling out of the gun at a time. So I turned the spring up all the way and it still did it. Then I disassembled it again and realized I left the ball detent out. When I went to fire it (still set as high as it went) it was firing TOO hot. The gun wouldn't recock properly and it just burped until my tank was dry. Pretty much ALL the problems stemmed from that. After I replaced the spring and o-rings the thing has worked very well.

1.) Oil and inspect the gun before you fire it, and make sure you don't leave any parts out, lol. (applies to every gun really)

2.) DON'T fire the stock spring with the velocity set all the way up. Turn the velocity WAY down then try firing it. After that you can worry about cutting the spring (once you know it fires).

3.) Either leave the gun cocked for a month to wear the spring in, call armotech & get a pre-broken in spring, or clip the spring ONE rung at a time until you achieve the desired velocity.

Oka first of all those 5 players all with rap4's could have possibly just been cought off gaurd or they didn't see them or something of the sort has nothing to do with what gun you are using. And as far is how many fields will let you play with it I don't know. And you can always buy more magazines you don't need just one just like pods, and take aim

Well you see there in lies the problem Matt. I'm not trying to bash on the Rap4, but some parts of it just seem flawed to me.

-ONLY bring your own paint fields would allow it (because I don't think there's a field in the world that sells .43 & .40 paint on premise)

-Even if it is clip fed it's STILL a paintball and STILL not terribly accurate (applies to ANY paintball gun). Therefore it's not as easy as just taking careful aim. That's why ppl like shooting 10 balls per second these days, to compesate for the lower accuracy of paintball guns.

Right I understand but I think it's a more realistic gun than say the SIM-4 and all I'm saying is if you want a more realistic feel than a rap4 is for you but it's a different style and needs getting used to. You know like any gun it has it's ups and downs. That's all i'm saying.

That armotech site was nice. Sim-5 is good. But all are priced a little high, I can see why though. I like the last one which is the cheapest one. It's 269 or something. Nice setup, hawt.

Erm... okay. Where did that come from? This thread has been dead for months, and now you comment on my tendancy to write essays for every post?

looks like you hit a nerve.
Thanks Warhamster for giving such a thorough explanation of the sim4. I've got an Icon e (cheap, reliable) and shoots well since I polished the barrel. But I'm seriously considering the sim4. My real concern is the weight and oh yea the price. A guy at work is selling a brand new in box elite for $400. Are scopes or laser worth using? Woodsball is all I play. I've owned one and never even seen one used on the field.

i know this thread is old but i want to clear up all the ignorence

armotech did not just change there name (i think warhamster cleared that somewhere)
RAP4 sucks unless you playing in a 50 square foot cardboard box they have no distance due to the lightness of there balls they also constantly jam
see here for more details http://www.armotech.us/forum/showthr...=&threadid=270
and these guys owned 4 of them so they know just about everything haveing to do with them
