Chronying a .43 caliber paintball
ALright I'm no good at this math stuff...
My local field has a 280fps limit. Thats with a .60 caliber paintball.
My local field has an XXXfps limit. Thats with a .43 caliber paintball.
How can I get to a safe proportionate velocity with a .43 ? What should it be at the chrony? What is XXXfps?

ok, i'm 13, but i'll give it a try
43 is (20%-48,)
(80% of 6=4.8)
(Almost) 72% of .60
Now we have to find 72% of 280, that is... 201.6
So you should chrono your .43 to 200 fps, i think... i'm 13, so i don't really know much math, and if it should be lower... if it should be higher it would be 360, but i believe it's lower, so put it to 200... i'm 13, but i think that's right...

IT should be higher ebcuase it carries less kinetic energy. I'm 15 and I have no clue so.. yeah.

It would be 360 but, i wouldnt put it that high. I would put it about 300. It should brake. My friend had one of those 40 cal pistols, and he put it at 300, and nearly all of his broke. Just try not to seriously injure/kill someone alpha!

Paint will break at 200fps, but it won't go as far as if you gave it 80 more fps.

Well, in the "old days", it was 300fps for .68, 330 for .62 and 365 for .50.
The main problem with smaller caliber paint was it had MUCH LESS range, and was far less accurate, so they were allowed higher FPS.
Caliber is not really the issue, but the weight.
Here is a link to find out the safe FPS. (You need to know the weight of the .43, then convert to grains).
Link for energy calculations
First, put in the data for .68, then pop in .43 and walk the FPS up until it matches the energy from .68.
HOWEVER.... 99% of the fields out there do NOT allow higher FPS for smaller calibers. The main reason is they can be dangerous at close range.

ummm your not planning on getting a RAP are you? those have major problems with jamming and the balls are so light that they dont go far and any wind will knock them off coarse i was looking into those for about a month and i read all these problems with them if you want realism without a hopper or tank wait for the scepter products to come out( www.scepter-combat.com)

I've never ever heard of a .43 caliber in my entire life. Wow.

Does anyone no how those work. it doesn't matter what the size is. You could shoot a pea and a baseball and they still ahev the same fps, feet per second. Sooooo a .43 shoudl be at 280 or whatver your field is at. Does anyone even no what a caliber is. 1.00 caliber or 1 caliber is eqaul to an inch in diameter. So a .43 cal is .43 of an inch. .68 is .68 of an inch.
Sooooo a chrono is basicly radar liek the cops have, just tweaked a lil to work with smaller objects. hope that helps to solve all of this.

NO NO NO!!! different weights at the same fps have different hitting power so your saying that shooting a bowling ball at 280 fps wont hurt sombody? IT WILL so you can also reverse that and since the .43 is lighter it can be shot at a higher fps and still have the same impact pressure
