Thing is, I don't think the other player was ever eliminated from the thrown paint.

It would be the same as hanging the flag while the other team still had a body.

Right, I don't think throwing paint is illegal it just doesn't count. If the splatz dude didn't get shot and hung the flag he's golden, they just shouldn't get points for that elimination where he threw the paint.

You dont get points for eliminations in NPPL.

That was crazy, All the finals games were pretty sick.

From the 2007 NPPL Rulebook:

27. Scoring
27.01 Game Scoring. Scoring for games will be conducted on a 100 point system and
will be awarded as follows:
(1) Eliminated Players. Both teams will be awarded 3 points for every player eliminated on the opposing team
(2) Remaining Players. Both teams will be awarded 1 point for every player on
such team not eliminated.
(3) Flag Pull. The first team to pull its opponent’s flag will be awarded 32 points.
Flag pull points will be awarded only to the first team that pulls its opponent’s
flag.
(4) Flag Hang. The first team to successfully hang the opposing team’s flag at
its flag station will be awarded 40 points.

they need a new method of scoring games. they use the same scoring rules that they did in like 1996.

As DarkTamer pointed out:
1. If you win: You get one point taken out for elimanation on your team(So as long as you pull and hang the flag, the least amount of points you can get is 94, the most is 100).
2. If you lose: You get 3 points for every player on the opposing team that you elimanated. Thus you can get 18 points if you shoot all but one of there players. (And I guess both teams can get a 21 if the last two players shoot each other out at the same time).

However, in the finals, eliminations no longer count. Its just whoever hangs the flag. If nobody hangs the flag, then its a stalemate, and if they stalemate all three games, or split the games with a stalemate, it is decided by a best of 3 1 on 1 I now believe.

Word.

I like NPPL scoring. If they didn't use points there would be way too many 5-3 teams in prelims and it would be a big mess. Unless there is another way of scoring I don't know about.
