allright... so you were there for 8 years and you don't speak fluent hebrew???.. how can that be possible? I've been in the US for 3 years and i speak fluent english.

there are 2 main fields that you can go to.

go to pbreview.com and go to fields > Israel > and then just pick one of the two and go to their website.

isreal has an ok scene. I thought arabic was more fluent than hebrew there. I guess im a little off. Im still trying to figure out which second language I should pick up in the army and im strongly considering arabic. swahilli or how ever you spell it and maderan how ever you spell it are both very close in second place. I want to be able to swear at any adversary I might come apon.

lol.. no... the main language is hebrew, arabic and english are secondary.

there are more english speakers in Israel then arabic speakers.

Every Israeli kid starts learning english in 2nd grade.. americans start their second language at junior high at best.

great to hear and all. BUT english is also the language of economics. If you want to make it in business and you are foriegn you need to speak english. thats a truth in most contries...multiple languages right away. a good idea for you...I wouldn't start any kind of anti american or stupid american sentiment. there are alot of countries who care alot about picking up additional languages but america still houses a large majority of the best schools in the world. for the percent of population america holds the largest amount of citizens with over a high school education. you could say we are a step above the average. not to mention the world economy rests on our shoulders. but then we are just a bunch of capitalist pigs who protect isreal from what would be certain demise.

well.. that's half true... your not protecting Israel from certain demise.. we not only won every one of our wars, but also with limited supplies, limited food/clothing/weapons and even manpower, including the fact that we waren't prepared and out-trained.

The US has only helped Israel in the last decade or so, so I'd say we could make it with or without you. but don't get me wrong, your help is very greatly apprechiated!

as to the schools thing, your right, english is pretty much the dominating language in economics today. Nonetheless it is taught since second grade and a third language is also mandatory at junior high. so by the time you finish highschool, you can allmost fluently speak 3 languages. Also, the standard level of math and science taught there is what I'm studying in my advanced classes over here in texas.

one more thing I'd like to add though, alot of people mistake Israel for a third-world country. that is NOT TRUE at all. not even close..

2 out of 3 of the noble prize winning chimmists (sp?) were Israeli!
