There's a thing called PRACTICE that's designed to make it so you work on your individual skills and talent, and over time you improve. If you have an electronic circuit board do the hard work you're too much of a wuss to do yourself, then you have no room to talk.

it doesnt change tourneys, in tourneys i still hit, 12-14 bps...max, so basically i only ramp for fun....as most people do.

Most of the pros though used ramping waaaaay before it was legal to do so though too
And I still believe that accuracy, being able to play tight, proper decision-making ect are much much important skills, and ramping doesn't help there. If you suck and ramp and go against someone good you will still get your butt lit up.

thats just to name a few... there is more than one skill required in paintball. i would consider shooting speed one of the very least important skills in the game. if you can't communicate, can't aim, can't make strategic moves, cant play certain bunkers in the right way, can't actually work with the rest of your team, what good is 30bps going to do you?

So if the teams that have enough money that they can cheat and buy hidden ramping boards that are over $200+ why not give the smaller teams and equal chances to be competitive against them without spending $1k+ for their team to try to stay equal when if it isn't hidden you can get a legal board for much less. Case in point BLAST reprogramming the Frenzy with the PSP mode for $40.
Plus 15 BPS isn't insanely fast, what is that 20 feet between the balls, that means movement and other skills become MORE critical than when it was all hidden and hitting insane speeds.

reloading is another VERY important skill in paintball, if a nub ramping 27 bps can't get the pod out of his pack, open his hopper lid, and dump the paint in in less than 1 second (impossible), hes going to be screwed because he will be running out of ammo about every 5 seconds. and running out of ammo/reloading every 5 seconds means getting bunkered where i play. so ramp does have its disadvantages, although i still love it

Like hell it is, the best thing to paintball is getting new players to join the sport. It isn't a beautiful thing especially when many beginners quit because they were lited up by a ramper. Best thing for the sport my ass. You make me laugh

and being lit up by someone truely pulling the trigger at 20 bps is less likely to make them quit? i dont think it matters whether you are hit by someone ramping or someone walking insanely fast. can you tell the difference between a walked paintball and a ramped paintball? no, theyre still travelling 300 fps or less, in fact, you wouldnt know or care if someone was ramping unless they actually came up to you and told you they were ramping after the game was over

i totally agree. honesty go to the SC turf field. play against real ballers. see how much ramping helps you there. unless you know how to move, snapshoot, 'aim', and play tight, it doesnt help you for ****. all of the strategy that is needed to win games is still there, which is what makes paintball fun to me.

eh, its been said before, there are way more skills than shooting fast in paintball. like i said above, if u can snap or know when to move, you're pretty much f*cked. Just because they can shoot fast doesnt mean they can own you on the field... they are still going to make the same rookie mistakes that 'better' people take advantage of.

well if you are totally against increasing bps without doing the hard work, than you are contradicting urself bud. and with bounce, you dont always have to keep your fingers moving.

you are so ****ing ignorant. haha. i ramp. i guess im a newb. thats like me saying recball/woods is for 'n00bs' which are apparently your roots, correct? talk is cheap, just like you.

I can make my marker bounce if I want (its a mech), and I can even go full auto sometimes if I want.
The fact is, I can walk a good gun 20+bps, and I don't need ramp to get it there. Don't say I'm contradicting myself ebcuase I'm not. Ramp and boucne are totally different things.
Bounce is the lesser of two evils, I like it better becuase to use it effectively, you don't just have to shoot a couple bps. You still need to move your fingers if you want to shoot a lot of paint.
Woodsball is for newbs, for the most part. Am I a newb? Well I think you've already made your opinion of me known. I can't afford speedball. So I'm going back to woodsball after a year of only speedball.
Ramping is not solely for newbs, but when your in recball it most definetly is. When your playing with players of different levels, different markers, which might not be as shiny and new and as fast as yours, ramp just gives the edge you already had with your nice equipment adn better skills, adn puts it over the line.
You need to watch your mouth and not pick out people and flame them. You could've made a great post with tons of information and maybe you could have persueded a few people, but instead you were an ass and had to drop in insults.

Why am I partially against ramping? Because it is extremely dangerous. Imagine this, someone bunkers you and their marker ramps up to 19BPS or so. Majority of the hits are to your head. Somewhat similar to when Lasoya knocked someone out because he ramped? Imagine being that guy...

Tell that to the kid that Lasoya shot in the head 15 times, while using an illegal ramp mode, and KNOCKED HIM UNCONSCIENCE!!
Ramp modes are unsafe. The ONLY reason they are being allowed is it has become to expensive to try and stop them.
Ramps have become so sophisticated, used bilinear ramp curves, and hidden quick-off modes that the ONLY 2 solutions were to either allow it, or ban all electros.
And the goal of tournaments is to make money.... which means selling paint, so banning electros will never happen.
The idea that ramp will not be allowed after 15bps is a joke, since ramps started out as cheat boards, what is to prevent anyone from staying at 15bps? NOTHING, and I know for a fact that many players have ramps that well excede 15bps.
Its called the slippery slope. One you start to make cheating legal.... players find new ways to cheat. That is human nature. The only real solution is to make it very hard to cheat, which is NOT what is happening right now.

you flat out called me a 'n00b' did u not? i clearly stated in this thread that i ramped and u said 'ramp is for noobs. i really could care less. insults or whatever, im just trying to get my point across. oh and if bounce is the lesser of two evils, its still an 'evil', if you want to be totally legit in a game.
ramping maybe be 'dangerous', but thast what those colerful little waivers are for i think u have really have to play at your own risk, oh and you cant go by lasoya, hes a dick and if his gun woulda been legit he woulda prolly shot the same amount of paint.
