Getting back into paintball... some help?
Okay, so last year at the beginning of the year I used to paintball almost every weekend, then as the year ended I almost completely stopped playing. After that my 98c started acting up and nobody's been able to fix it, and the 2k1 cocker I bought as a second gun needs some work and the guys at the shop said it wouldnt be worth it.
So, now that my knee injury is better and school is out, I'm looking to get back into paintball. I'm going to be working about half of the summer so I'll have some money (around $600+) to spend pretty soon.
What I'm wondering is if there have been any new guns introduced in the last year or so that are worth looking into. I want something that's alright but very upgradable. I wont get a spider, theres no way.
Would it just be better to get a 68/4500 fiber tank and fix my cocker (2k1 wgp) or...?
I'm just looking for suggestions, thanks.
-Kyle
Edit:
Oh, and I'll be playing mostly speedball with a tad bit of woods thrown in there.

I'm not really one to get something that everybody has, it just bugs me. :/
When I stopped following pb, the Reloader B was just introduced... did that turn out to not beat the Halo B?

No a lot of people prefer the reloader b over the halo b.
Anyway I reccomend looking into mags, b2ks, and ions.
Edit and also impuleses and dm3s

b2k5 (if the damn thing gets out!) ions, wraths, and any used gun (dm3s are going cheap fully upped!)
buy a 68/4500 and a halo B no matter what.

How much to fix what you have?
I would look at that and some new equipment over just buying everything.

Well Torch, they said a new front block and a new trigger. I was thinking just get an E-Blade(2, maybe) for it but I heard there were problems with the 2k1 body (side feed) and the eyes.
Okay, so now it's between the b2k4 w/ pds, upping my cocker, and... I do like the dm3's, but how heavy are they compared to my other two choices?
I really don't want an Ion, I'll pay more to not have the same thing as everyone else.

ditch the rf cocker. A dm3 would be a little heavier i think, but the speed it would have.......u'd be drooling.

well the b2k4 may be a good choice...you can find them for $320 new i think. Also, a halo is fast enough to keep up with anything, reloaders are just sound activated and come stock with a manual unjam feature (halo's made from 12-04 have an electronic unjam feature). The reloader may be able to feed 3-4 bps faster but its just overkill...i shoot 19bps steady with my ramping impulse and have never had a problem...ever.
a b2k4 w/ pds runs around $320...
then you can find halo's for around $110
then a 68/4500 tank for $180 lets say
thats $610...you can find tanks cheaper used though...and hoppers

Alright well thanks, I think it's time to just wait and go over to my shop and try out a dm3 and a b2k4 w/ pds.
Edit:
okay, okay.
with all this support for the Ion I guess I'll try that out when I go to look at guns too.
