thsi whole convo has me thinking..why even use a bolt? why not jsut shoort regulater air through the body. I'm supprised that hasn't been created yet. (save for potatoe launchers)

i believe the Epic had a trap door style system which i may believe not requiring a bolt.

Right, it did.

Potato guns don't count because they only have one opening. The expanding gas has no way out except to push the potato down the barrel, or explode the walls of the gun.

Paintball guns have more than one way out of the chamber. Without the bolt you would need something else to seal it off for the shot, like the door in that Epic or the moving barrel on the Nova.

ur a noob....

back on topic.couldnt you just use a smaller sliding cover to cover the feedneck hole? It would take alot less air to do that instead of move an entire bolt.
