Paintball Fields Failing in North West Ohio!! WHY??
I live in NW Ohio in the City of Findlay, which really isn't that big of a city. Our local paintball field owned by L&G Sports has informed me that they will probably close down this July. What they have is a very small indoor field and one or two out door fields. I've heard that R& B sports in BG is also closed and that the indoor place in Toledo has closed and I don't know about the fields in Lima. I guess Bull Creek in BG is still open. I think NM Ohio prefers woodsball. I've been thinking lately that a Paintball field would be a wise investment. WHAT I NEED TO KNOW IS WHAT DOES NORTHWEST OHIO WANT????? WOODSBALL? SPEEDBALL ? OR A COMBO OF BOTH?? OR SOMETHING ELSE???

I think they would want a combo of both speedball and woodsball so people that play speedball can do both and vise versa.

The real problem with NW Ohio (as well as SE Ohio) is that hardly anyone lives there. Ohio is basically an urban strip that runs diagonally from Cleveland, through Columbus, and down to Cincy. IMO there just aren't enough people out there who ball that would keep a field in business. Especially if there is more than one field open, sometimes its better to have one do well instead of 5 who all end up tanking.
That's just my opinion. I live 20 miles from Cincy, pretty urban, and there are plenty of fields here. I'll admit- I don't recognize that life exists in your neck of Ohio or in SE Ohio. Then again, every Ohioan I've talked to admits that Cleveland is the armpit of the state (just opinion, not necessarily fact).

Now that you've said it, that seems right. I live in Ontario and and we got about 3 fields that are decently close to where I live and the one I go to most(68 caliber) seems to be always doing good.
And to fix the problem, move

all i can say is try driving a little farther. i live like 15 min from cleveland (yes i know my profile thing says i live in cleveland, but it is more known that my city) and have 2 buisnesses that are both good. (the reason i say buisnesses is because one feild is not near the proshop of one place) i forget where it was but i went on this one site and it had a litsting of atleast 15 paintball feilds in ohio and they are all somewhat near the center of ohio. i have never actually been to most of them (they look sort of shady, but if your desperate it worth a try) and only some actually have a website. if i find the site again i will pm it to you.

This news is disheartening. I plan to move near the Zanesville Ohio area and my goal was to setup a facility with a hyperball field and a woodsball field.

^^yeah smitty, i used to live in Ohio and believe me, theres not alot there...zanesville is definatley one of the "better" middle of nowhere towns and you may be successful with a paintball enterprise...but don't expect too much.

Ive been playing alot of Greg Hastings paintball lately and there are some really cool fields in that game. I'd like to make an Xball field but I think that it would be more cost effective and less maintenance for me to do hyperball. Maybe if the place kicks off nicely I can add an Xball field as a 3rd field. It would be nice to eventually have 4 fields tho. Hyperball, Woodsball, Xball, and Mil sim. I dont think that area would support a facility like that though. However The number of fields wouldnt increase my overhead any and I plan on having the land to do it on so maybe a field of that size would draw people in. And if not Id have 4 really cool fields for me and my friends to play on

I haven't checked into the cost of land or the bussiness end of a field operation yet. What was ur thinking on the cost to start up a facility say 4-6 fields and a small woodsball plus all that goes with it??????

if u live in findly, y the hell dont u go to michigan and play? nothing is gonna stay open in NW ohio unless its amazing, cuz right over the boarder is atomix, pbx, futureball and lone wolf. as for ohio, if you dont have an airball field, dont bother. if ur in central ohio you BETTER have a good field cuz its gonna be hard to take competition from tpa. there really are no real good fields in ohio, because if your a serious player chances are you dont play for a team in ohio.
i must admit, dayton area has a lot of nice fields and lots of sweet competition. BUT most of the guys i play with down in dayton play for atomix, chaos (my team) or chicago evil. all teams outside of the state
