Ion and my friend.
Ok, you may be thinking this is another ION thread. WRONG!! Ok, my friend, well he is kinda my friend went paintballing with us once, rented gear and a 98 custom tippman. Ok, so he got hooked. So he put money into getting a gun. You know noobs should buy a decent semi-auto to start with. And good gear. Well he goes out and spends 300 dollars on a ION a super cheap mask that will prolly break from a shot and 5 dollar hopper, gravity fed, he doesn't know that he shoulda gotten a motorized hopper to keep up with it. So now, he didn't have enough money for CO2, which he shouldn't get. and he doesn't have money for paint or even to go to our paint ball field.
Also with the ION he couldn't figure out how to work it.
GAHHH!
It makes me so mad!

300 isnt that much at all, depends on the financial situation i guess tho. most newer people care more about getting a 'cooler' gun and looking better than playing though. which is my theory on why people upgrade low end guns such as spyders and tippies. they own low end guns for a reason, and thats usually because they cant afford the higher end guns, so they usually spend most of their money on paying for upgrades just to have them, and not using them and getting their money's worth. i dont know.

i sense that u may be jealous the ion is a good starting gun b/c it is really good for the price. it doesn't matter what gun a person gets as their first even if it is a little bit more money than other people started out w/. he will learn how to use it, mabye he doesn't b/c he just got it

It doesnt really matter if he got a gravity feed. if he doesnt try to shoot super fast hell be fine. You gotta work up to gettin good gear if u dont have enough money you cant have everything all at the same time (unless ur loaded)

ya the Ion DOES have eyes ..as long as he has something to hold da balls, he's good
and 300 isnt a lot depending on the financial situation...hmm...he doesnt have enough money for co2!...he should get hpa, find a 68/3k for around $80-100 and he's good
tell him to read the manual and look for threads online. I wouldn't be jealous, I'd feel sorry for him cuz even me playing at the field w/ the marker in my sig, when I play 10 vs 10 w/ lesser experienced recballers, its like all 10 of them vs me (get the guy w/ that silver gun and proto jersey out first!!!) and my teammates are all shorter than me (I'm 6'1) and I'm always furthest up the field
so he may get lit up the first few times at the field if everybody else has spyders and tippmanns, because they see him as the kid w/ the good gun (even though he may not be skilled) and they'll go after him first
haha

Yea, the internals of the Ion are maid for both Co2 and HPA but you need to use HPA or you'll destroy it without the proper upgrades. Even though it may seem unnecessary for a new player, I suggest he saves his money and gets a 4500psi tank because the Ion is a gas hog and if he is a new player he doesn’t have the option to get it filled often and he's probably not going to commercial fields often. But other than that don’t just be mad because he doesn’t know what he’s doing, he is new, instead of being irritated give him advice. You did say he was your friend didn’t you?
