well... if companies like Derder actually put out paintball videos like 300 FPS (which I watch wholeheartedly and enjoy) then paintball can definetely be a spectator sport.

I wonder how it was on Ping Pong forums when Ping Pong was just starting to get out...

PING PONG ON TV!

Well I figured I'd be the first to start the 3 week countdown till Ping Pong is on tv. It should be on ESPN 2. 9 EST. I'm soooooo stoked!

If paintball was on TV you would see someone shooting off the screen. You see his teammate run off the field. The next scene is someone on the other team walking off the field. Who knows where that guy was shooting, where his teammate ran, or who got the guy out.

Everyone here is saying how things like ping pong, golf, baseball, etc are on TV. It isn't because of how much support they have, but all those sports have one thing in common. All those sports are focused on one thing. The ping pong ball, the golf ball, and the baseball. What could camera-men focus on in paintball? The flag usually isnt grabbed until the end of the game. Their are 10 or more people on the field for most of the game, who do you focus on without missing anything else? Get a sky view? That's a bit costly and not too pratical. Their is simply to much going on in paintball to film it all without missing something.

You can easily get a "sky view" without getting a blimp... just get one of those tractor things that they use for fixing telephone poles and stuff, they can go up, like, 70ft or something, if you got two of those w/ camera men on them along with a ground crew covering close ups of crazy cool moves (bunkering, breakouts, flag/grabs/hangs) then it would be sick.

This can be done... and I support it whole-heartedly!! It would make my... month if paintball got on regular tv!!!

my sister. Another reason for no paintball is that with people in stands the balls can hit a bunker and fly intho the air causing someone to get hit. Which would mean a large lawsuit for the x games people. And if they wanted to give every one a mask and have to sign a waiver i think it would still be kind of boring and somewhat hard tp see with nets. But i am all for paintball in the xgames

Its diffrent because when the camara goes to watch one player you miss action on the other side of the field its just to hard to film epsecially if its live.

They don't have the bunkers fully inflated so the balls bounce really far, they have the slightly cushiony so that the balls will just hit them and drop, or at most bounce a few feet. And even if they were to somehow fly over the 40-50ft netting after hitting a bunker, they would be going so slow by that point it wouldn't even matter... the most it would do is startle someone.

i ahve two thoughts about paintball in the x-games:

1. It would be sweet.Lots of people would learn that paintball isnt just woodsball, and might gain intrest and cause prices on stuff to go down.

or

2.It would be dumb. All the noobs would think thyre awesome and talk mad crap. Also the anouncers would just be lame, and try and pretend like they know what thy're talking about . I.E. "that was an awesome....um....um....running and shooting"

That would never happen, and there is no logical reason as to why it would.

Noobs already think they are awesome.

And when paintball is on TV, the announcers are very good, its just a hard thing to comment on when you can't really see the action. Its not like they have bob costas do it, they actually get paintballers.

Paintball anouncers are good. X games anouncers are not. I used to skate and its amazing how much stuff they just make up to pretend like they know what they're talking about.

Pricees wouldn't go down. Prices would sky rocket because of demand, It's the best way to make a profit raise the prices while the demand his high
