Original Iron chef is better, and I think it could be done, it would be trial and error but its not impossible. Ariel cameras would be very usefull, and I think one day it will make it on TV, but like you have all said its so much better watching it in person than on TV.

I personally think the X-games are a crock. The X-games are just consolation for skaters, BMX'ers and ramp-jumpers to make them THINK they are professional athletes. All those sports are really just HOBBIES.
My definition of a sport is something that is based on a measureable fact- ex. in football you either get into the endzone, or you don't. There are no style points based on how you you do it.
Hence why I don't consider BMX, Motorcross, skateboarding, snowboarding, inline, cheerleading, gymnastics, trampoline jumping... to be sports. It's a matter of kissing up to some official instead of attaining some specific goal. Paintball IS a sport because you either get someone out, hang the flag, etc...same # of points are awarded whether you hit someone off the break or bunker them.
Hence pb shouldn't be in the X-games. And like it's already been said by MP11 and MrMacDude, it's not a spectator sport. It's only really fun only if you're the one on the field. College sports, however...now that you can get pumped just being on the sidelines. There's a difference.

i was reading this thread and it seems no one really knows the history of X-ball
X-ball was desgined to make the game more spectator friendly..
Think of it like this
every game is sorta like a down in football...
then you get a 2 min break to "huddle" and pod up and everything
then you have another down
then you have half time for 10 min
then you go into the 2nd half
and then you have the final score.
X-ball and especially NXL where designed so that durring those 2 min break that happen all the time, the show could throw in a commercial. and durring half time, they could show a preview, have the announcers talk about players, ect. ect.
and x-games and x-ball won't work
X-ball/paintball needs it's own like... show.
