Some people just act different between rec and tourney because more may be on the line. I do however think that some people's ego's get way out of hand. That's why I tend to play more rec than tourney. I've seen a 12 year old be more honest than a 20 year old in a rec game though..

Usually I'm nothing but nice to recballers. If their gun is broken, I help them fix it. If I'm not busy and I'm waiting for the next game to start, I'll run drills with them and coach them. But when a rec player gets a little attitude with me, I have to shut him up.

Yea, when people get an attitude, agreed you must put them in their place, but not with words, rather on the field.

^Agreed. I treat everyone equal on the field. I treat the noobies the best, help them fix their guns, help them out on the field in positions, you know..show them the roots. The only people i do not treat with that much respect are the people who do not treat me with respect. People with really good guns do not make them better than a person with a tippmann, accept for the fact they can lane, and such. But give a person who had a tippmann for the rest of their life a DM5 and see how he does, i bet he can play better than someone who has had a DM5 their whole life, because the tippmann person learned the basics of the game and learned how to aim and such. Not just to lane people.
Thats how i see it.

Not really. If you "aim" I'm going to shoot a rope of 24 bps at you.

Refs... don't get me started on refs, i cant stand them. I have yet to meet a decent ref that actually catches cheaters and kicks them off the field. Yea I only play recball, but the quality of the ref staff should be equal for both forms of play. That's my opinion.

Which is why I love Tournament Practice. The refs are actually ballers and know what they are doing. Recball refs blow.

Recball play I feel is unacceptable, and basically, you’re just out to make yourself look like a jerk. We’re out there to have fun, not to make the new kid cry. Embrace the new people, and bring more talent into the sport.
Ego’s on this forum are a whole other issue. There serves no purpose to being jerks online, why not just treat everyone here with equality vs. join date, or post count, or what sex they are. Your ego’s do not matter here, so do not have one. Just be a normal person, and help the newer guys out, that’s all.
Part of the reason I left PBF was due to the ego’s of all the members. People trashing one another for no reason what so ever, this isn’t cool. I would just like to see attitudes left offline, or not even shown at all.
That’s my opinion….

dude who the **** plays recball now adays besides new players? i show up to a field and there aer 2 groups, players who are good, and players who are not....
bunkering, over shooting, OCASIONAL wiping (meaning if i get hit on my chest going to my bunker off the break, ill slide head first and get it off.... cheap hits like that are like what ever, who cares) trash talking, etc, is fine in the advanced group.... no one does it in the rec group.... i g2g so i cant completly finish my thought but u get the idea.

I think the people who are saying their are too many assholes in the sport comparing it to how it was awhile ago arn't looking at everything. It's like how the media says paintball injuries have nearly doubled in the past few years, but they are ignoring the fact that the numbers of players increased by 10 times.

I hate the
"Woodsball is for noobs"
And "Speedball is for pansies who like to hide behind marshmallows"
Both opinions are retarded. I love all paintball. I'll have just as much fun as I do on the recball field as I do on the xball field.
The thing is, paintball isnt played for fun. Its played for status. You want to be known as the kid who overshot a whole team, wiped a mask hit, you want to be known as the kid on the field who has the most illegal gun (although ramping is FUN).
If you relaly tell me that you're an asshole for fun, your full of ****, and your lieing to me, and to yourself. Act like yourself. It seems like when you hop on a field, throw on a gucci headband and start beign a complete dickwad, you're cool.
That is unacceptable to me.
Now, I just as equally hate to death teh people that show up with 30 pounds of burlap taped onto their pants and an A5 with a huge ass scope and all that other crap.
I'm a ref, and cheating is not acceptable. If I catch you ramping too bad (its rec, so I take it easy on the firing modes, but if I see any full auto or burst, I'll make them take it off and throw a tourney lock on it if they can), I'll punch your tag and you'll sit out a game.
I treat cheaters exactly the same as people who would take their mask off in the middle of a game or take a condom off in teh staging.
Its recball. Theres a time and place for that stuff.
TL;DR: ITs okay to have a competitive attitude, but there is a very fine line between being a fierce competetor and an asshole. Be the latter and I'll stab you.
