who will play to play. who plays on the throw together team against the 7 man novice team jsut to play. he wants to play, and does no matter what, not amtter the weather, the circumstances. a real baller balls to ball.

I consider the real baller to be the average joe that throws away the money, throws away the cheating, plays on honor, and just has a great time with his friends. That's a real baller

Word BAUR, but it seems to be the general idea that your only a true baller if you cheat, to win.

It's attitudes like this one (call it "ego" if you want) that are ruining the "sport". unfortynatly I feel like I'm in the minority with my opinions about "good sportsmanship" anymore.

I play recball (woodsbal). I play to shoot balls. I play for the rush I get from the "danger" that I'm in. I play because I like it. If I get tagged and "loose" so what? In a few minutes I'll be on the field feeling the rush again. I "win" every time I play regardless of how many times I was tagged and/or how many people I personally tagged. I cannot "loose" to anybody if they play fair and follow the rules. Nor can anybody else "lose" to me because I ALWAYS follow the rules. You only "loose" when you cheat and/or are cheated.

I must admit I'm really disappointed in the majority of you. Granted, I'm just barely above Novice level but if it has already reached a point where wiping in a tourney or any game is considered "ok" then I think I'll just stick to Scenario, Rec and Woodsball. Hell, I've called myself out in woodsball just due to feeling the hit, even when it didn't break. Granted, I didn't realize that until afterward but I still held to my "I'm hit" call.

I can understand the egos and everything but, just recently I had a so-called "baller" give me crap about blind-firing simply because I'd positioned myself in an awesome bunker and kept him pinned on one corner of the field while the rest of my team mopped up. If you can't play fair or you can't accept your own failure or you can't have fun without cheating, wiping or giving crap to other players, maybe you should just find another sport or stay away from my field.

To those who would bunker a kid, all I gotta say is, if you're as good as you think you are, run in, scare the crap outta him and give him a chance to walk out or at least tag him on the shoe, loader or someplace else that's not gonna leave a welt and ruin the sport for him.

QFT. Or, if he/she is the farthest player back, quietly walk back 15 feet and shoot 'em in the leg. It hurts less, but you still get the point across.
A personal favorite move of mine is to, instead of bunkering someone, press your barrel against their back and ask them to surrender. If they dont, its hard for them to turn 180* before you shoot them.. and its their choice to get hit that close then.

That's a barrel tag and according to the rules of LOTS of fields you HAVE to surrender (because a barrel tag is considered a "hit"). The rule of thought is that if you are close enough to "tag" 'em then they are out.

I don't care about the egos, because I myself have one of the biggest egos around. Cheating - whatever. Ramping is fine, overshooting is gay but it happens and that's part of paintball, whiping is always going to happen - but there is one thing I WILL NOT accept: velocity ramping. If you velocity ramp I will kick your trachea out, flashbang your dog, and then overshoot your mother.

Alright bud, you're better than me? What's your team name? How many tournies have you won?

Yeah, I wipe, I play on, I overshoot. Why? To win. I don't pay money to play a tourny to be a good example in the paintball community and sit on my ass in 12th place, I go out there to win. Nothing else.

Why do I overshoot? Because if I don't he's gonna wipe it off. He can't wipe 10-15 hits though can he?

Why do I play on? Becuase the refs suck. It's their job to pull me, not mine.

Why do I wipe? Becuase I like winning rather than losing. It's the guy on the other team's fault for not shooting me more than I could wipe.

Don't even comment on my posts if you play recball. Unless you play tournies you have no idea why I do this ****. You think "Oh snap! Mil-Sim Jim got banned from the woods for wiping! Who would ever do that?", you act like wiping is like murder.

Wiping is part of the game, just like holding in football. If you get away with it, you have an advantage. If you don't get away with it, it's a penalty. Simple as that.

one thing i will never understand about some "ballers", is that they think that their party/immoral life should be revered by everyone on and off the field. They're "cool" for it...

as far as cheating...wiping i can see in the big's...psp, nppl, nxl...you (or your sponsor) pays the big money for you to play...you're going to do everything you can to win...

playing on is alright to a certain degree, but don't be a sore loser...show a little maturity

Overshooting? i dont like the feel of it but if it happens to me, i play in small enough tournies (now), that the players usually get a word from the refs about it. And once we start moving up...if it happens, i can dish it back out.

i think thats so true barber, about football.... linemen hold practically every play.... they play dirty.... we would punch eachother in the gut during plays, poke eachother in the throat, etc...... its just a matter of not being caught.

also, i dont think people understand overshooting.... people think that overshooting is jsut cuz we are asses.... but its not, its too prevent cheating, just like barber said. u cant wipe 7 hits, plus 3 off your pack as you are wiping off the field.

and for reals, im not an ass on the field.... i like the atmosphere at a paintball field. i like the ego's and such, talkin 'friendly' **** before games when your scrimaging another team. i duno.... i think people give tournament paintballers too much ****, when they have not expeirienced it themselves.

all these woodsballers ATLEAST 5 tournaments and come back and tell us your attitude did not change.... it will. its not like all of us were not in your posistion before. most of us used to say cheating sucks. then we 'grew up' in our paintball lives, and well, i like it.
