Holy Cow, I just read 5+ pages of this stuff.
Cheating in tournament play is perfectly acceptable. All of the comparisons to other pro sports is right on. Especially Hockey, you can punch a guy in hockey and only go to the penalty box! It is the refs job to enforce the rules and penalize the cheaters. Oh, and you might as well cheat during practice, seems like it's a skill that would need to be practiced.
Cheating in rec/walk on games? That makes you a friggin' douche.
The wipe. Just take your hit and get out.
Playing on. Unless your hit right in the mask, then playing on is debatable. Try to check yourself but don't stand there and get hit more. I expect the ref to call me out unless the paint is VERY obvious to me. In the woods, I'll duck, check for paint and proceed accordingly.
Overshooting. In the neighborhood of 5 hits is acceptable. 10 or more and you got some 'splaining to do. (Hell, I got some 'splaining to do as in the how the hell did I get hit 10 times?)
Shooting someone on their way to the deadbox. WTF is that about? It would be hard for me to control my temper if somebody was puposely capping me while I was walking off. I might just have to get thrown off the field after I put a fist through some guys mask.

i brought up this post again because i did a search about cheaters and it anwsered my questions and i basically wanted some recent posts not stuff from august. so i posted to bump. i'm sorry if that was a problem. but to me bottom line..cheating isnt nessecary. where the money is...if you cant win money by playing fair you dont deserve it. and it just goes back to "well everyone else is doing it, so it must be fine"

Barber is an a$$
If some punk overshot me on purpose I'd overshoot his face with my fist. Same with his tough guy attitude and other crap. He can get away with his sh$t with kids but try it on real men. A-holes always put there crap over on those weaker than them. On to the cheating.. Cheaters are losers that can't win without cheating. Plain and simple. If you cheat you aren't confident in your abilities.

So what you're saying is yur woodsball powerhouse team would beat Dynasty (assuming Dynasty doesn't wipe at all or cheat at all.) Or even any d3 team?

The young bucks that are putting together teams now are getting' real cocky. Put a descent gun in their hand an they think they are great, and even after you beat them on the feild they still runnin at the grill. Kinda going in the direction of the atitude of b-ball player.

*sighs*
every pro team wipes. could they beat me/you without wiping? yes. but can they beat another pro team without wiping? sometimes, but it makes it a hella lot harder.
now to the overballing thing. i shoot who i see (with the exception of the refs). once i realize they are GOING OUT and not wiping, i stop shooting. they dont go out/wipe, i keep shooting.

see and i'm not saying your in the wrong dudeus...but...if the people would play fair to begin with we'd not have to worry about over shooting..if you are pretty positive you shot the guy just cover him so he cant move and have a ref come p aint check or something...send a few shots at him..the refs will eventually realize your hitting him and check him....thats what i'd do

Except we're talking about tourneyball, in which a delay of a ref checking him can cost you the game. And even if tehy waited to check him odds are he wiped it or rubbed it.
And I NEVER bonusball at tourneys or practice for that matter. I'm a small dude and I don't think I should have a big ego on the feild. Cause even though all my backmen are 6'+ sasquatches that would watch my back. (I'm the kid of the team.) I don't want to start anything in the parking lot ya know? Just is really unprofessional. The only times I intentionally bonus ball people was at a tourney when we were playing our friends team and we just did it for fun or in army games.
But yeah, I wipe. Sometimes too much. I only do it if I really want to keep playing at practice but I won't in scrims against my team. In tournaments I'll wipe any cahnce that a ref isn't on me. I used to NEVER wipe in tourneys, but the more I play em, the more I have to and will.
I really think people shouldn't post in this thread unless they've played both aspects of the sport (tournaments, NOT REC-SPEEDBALL and recball.)
