pb trouble
I need your advice because i dont know what to say to my mom.
I've been playing since christmas and up until now my mom has generally accepted paintball. About a week ago me and my team scheduled a practice at an xball field. Our practice is coming up this Sunday. We wanna come out strong from the off season so in the spring were ready for some tourneys. Since i'd never wanna buy fieldpaint i always byop, its wayyy cheaper. I told my mom i needed her to please take me to the store so i could pick up some more balls. I only had 1000, and thats not enough for 8 hours of xball.... thats not even enough for 2 hours of xball... She said the pb store was too far away so i asked if she would take me to meijer to get some crappy vapor to play with. She said she would the next day. The next day comes and shes all like "you dont need more paintballs, you have 1000, and you should be spending your money on better things, it costs enough just to get in and play." But i dont care anymore because i'll just ride up on my bike sooner or later and get balls myself. So today my team calls and is like "mike you gotta come over and do some drills with us." My mom usually doesn't give a crap about me going over places. So im like mom im gonna ride up to joshs house and do some drills. She told me if i wanted to slide around on my expensive pants i could do it at our house without the rest of my team. I told her that my team is very important and we wanna do good at practice to impress all the refs and such there (we wanna get sponsored by our local field.) then she said i dont need my team and i should just play paintball for fun and not try to be good. Whatever, i'll do it at practice. And now shes all pissed because im telling her about this tournament that were getting ready for in the spring. Shes like "paintball costs way to much... why dont you buy other things with your money" and i told her that paintball is my favorite thing. and then shes like "well forget the tournament its not import. focus on your schoolwork" and im like mom... im getting staight A's... and then shes like okay for that you can't do anything during the week... only on weekends. shes acting like im a stupid little kid... what do i say to her?? I dont wanna piss her off just let her see my side.

see if she is willing to come with you to a practice and have her watch. show her that this is truely the sport you love and you wont give it up. keep fighting and dont give in to her evilness. its your money and you can spend it any way you want to.

But seriously, try and have a serious sit-down type discussion with her, not a harsh exchange of screams. Explain to her that you've been geeting the grades and that paintball is what you have your heart set on right now. |

my mom supported me from the get-go. all i had to do is have her play a game with me, she loved it.

My mom loves watching me play paintball she tapes it. So, just have your mom come with you to your local field and have her watch you play. It's only the best to do, or have her come to your friends house and watch you play.

it's like any other sport. It costs money (gasp) I currently have no creative ideas. So i guess this post is worthless for now.
Hopefully my brain will start up and i can help.

i sat her down nicely asked her to just please come see what its all about. so now shes coming to my practice and taping me playing.
hopefully she'll be convinced.
