WHat to say
Ohk, my friend and I were talking about paintball. I was talking about the new PM6. Then he started arguing that its no better than a spyder. His reasons were:
-Spyder Electra ACS has rocking trigger and can be capped at 30 bps
-Spyders are easy to maintain
-Can have eyes built in
How do I explain the whole blowback concept... I'm not too good at explaining how things work. Or should I just let it go?

spyders have kick
spyders are high pressure
they have no style
they have a ****load of kick
not very consistent
kick
shootdown
can have built in eyes
i dont know what else there is to say. Tell him to shoot a spyder and a proto, and then look at his reaction

Spyders suck, protos don't...
haha. Spyders have horrible efficiency, are inacurate, loud, slow, have tons of kick, look like crap, blowback, and not made very well.
Spyders are alright if you play with your friends at your own field once a month or every other week...but if you play serious paintball...they suck.
To the person above me....a PM6 is a proto matrix 6

ok were talking about protos.. yeah they are alot better than spyders.. all an electra is is a victor with an rocking trigger and an ok bolt ... :-/
well spyders dont suck though thats just ignorant.. yes they arent as good as protos but if you are new to the sport they are the ideal marker.
you can make a spyder better than a proto if you put a little money in it. but most people wouldent becuase you could get a better gun for the money that you are putting in the spyder... spyders dont have a lot of kick either... from what ive npticed at least.
conclusion: protos are better than spyders but... spyders dont suck

whoa did u say spyders can b as good as protos? ur smokin sumthin good and i want some because no spyders will nvr be even half as good as a proto
besides the fact that they r blowbacks wit heavy triggers and tons of kick and shootdown at high speeds. protos r also 100x better lookin, faster, lighter trigger, and all around 100x better than a spyder can get

ya, thats a pretty tall tale saying that a spyder can be as good as a Proto... a good spyder would be:
-Imagine ($65)
-Maxflo Front reg ($100)
-Superfly Bolt ($35)
-Freak kit ($175)
-T-board ($55)
-50 g switch ($10)
-Breakbeam eyes ($10)
-CP Onoff ($35)
-New Feedneck ($35)
-New trigger ($20)
and there is a lot more, like a new valve, hammer, etc...but that totals:
$540
+ halo, and a hpa tank
and a new proto is liek $700, correct me if im wrong.
well anyway, ya, a proto is definately better than a spyder

Spyders suck, the proto is a much nicer gun, lighter, faster

don't talk about protos seeing how u know nothing about them....a few posts up u asked what the PM6 was....
Fully Upped Spyders will never be anything close to a proto bc in the end it is still a blowback and would be A LOT heavier.....and yes spyders have kick...

i'd like to question that. W/ my electra i would get pretty good efficancy. Like a case per fill on my 68/4500 (hot fills too) then again....maybe i read it wrong.

Okay we know both guns are fast and can have eyes. But why is the spyder worse. It's a blow-back...... guys that doesn't tell him WHY
It has to do w/ mass. A spyder moves much more mass around when it cycles then the proto. It moves the heavy striker and the bolt. When they move and are then shoved back (via the spring) the force has to go somewhere. This is where u get ur kick from, it's the large force (mainly due to weight along w/ the spring) Now kick means the whole gun moves, if the gun is moving-then it's going to have trouble being accurate.
If i'm wrong on this, plz correct me.

I'm building a pretty killer spyder right now, but it will NEVER touch a proto in any way.
I'm just doing it cuz I want to, even though I could buy an ion with what I'm putting into it, but I'm not doing it cuz I think it can be better than an ion. Just amazing for a spyder. Just let the kid be ignorant.

Spyders are blowback guns, meaning they have a sear and hammer and springs making things move.
Protos are electro-pnuematic, there is no springs and sears releasing things, it is all pneumatically controlled, so pretty much the only thing that will wear out is o-rings, on a spyder, the hammer and sear will wear out along w/ the o-rings. Also, spyders are very poorly made, especially compared to protos which are made by Proto (who knew...) which is a subdivision of Dye, which makes some of the best if not the best quality stuff on the market.

since u have a ion u should be able to notice the differnce in kick. Set ur spyder to full auto. Feel how much is recoils. Now turn on ramp w/ ur ion set it to whatever the spyder is capped at. Ramp away and compare the kick.
World of difference isn't it?

Paint popper obviously has no idea what he is talking about....
I have a spyder that is about fully upped that I loan out to my friends when they play and the kick on that thing is pretty bad. Way worse than any true electro-pneumatic.
