School paintball club
At my school today a kid came up to me and told me that i should go talk to the athletic director about starting up a paintball club. so, without thinking i got out of class to go talk to the guy. he thought it was a good idea, but there were a few issues:
1)You can't really bring your gun to school...
2)We need a sponsor
3)He questioned why i couldn't do this outside of school... he wanted to know what the school needed to do for us (because it would be easier to do this outside of school of course)
4)We need at least 30 or so kids for this to be a go, along with a solution to part one, a sponsor, and things the school offers for the paintball club that we couldn't get outside of school.
I would REALLY like to see this happen.
My solution for part 1 was to have the parents of everyone bring they're crap to them after school. simple.
2. we could find a sponsor somewhere... theres like a million teachers.
3. the school could give us bus transportation to and from the field (1/2 hour away), hopefully get us discounts (paintball is expensive) and organize all events and everything.
4.i KNOW there are a TON of kids that would love to do this.
what i really need is things the school can do for us like part 3 says.
if we can think of enough reasons i think this just might work.
thanks for any input.

it would cost a little too much, organization would be a pain the butt, transportation would be iffy, getting alot of kids to join would be harder, and its just overall cooler to have a school paintball club instead of just a club.

first off:
1. you dont need to bring a gun to school :P
2. find a local pro shop, teachers will most likely NOT sponsor you.
3. you cant do this outside of school, because student to student contact is limited when ur not in school. all the school needs to do for you is just let you guys have a meeting once a week and plan out the event for the weekend.
4. have the sponsored pro shop offer discounts when you buy paint/gear/etc.. in volume, also if the pro shop also runs a field, have a discounted field fee.

you know by sponsor i mean having a teacher that supports the paintball club and organizes the events. a club can't become an official club unless you have at least one teacher "sponsor", or in other words, support or approve the club. not like a paintball sponsor for like a team or something.
we'd got a proshop to sponsor us, in the other sense though, like store discounts and field discounts.
and of course you dont need guns at school, but we do need guns obviously to play paintball, so the parents would have to bring all the equipment after school got out.

yep.
the parents aren't all gonna wanna drive to this thing, thats part of the reason why we need the schools help. if we could get a bus (complete with driver) that would be awsome. gas is expensive, all the parents aren't going to want to drive to a place about 30 or so miles away every weekend, and then back. also, they'd have to stay in the area for the whole time unless they actually wanted to sit around and do nothing for a few hours... which they probably wont wanna do, so they'll end up going home or somewhere else... once again... more gas.

when i was on ski club all you had to pay each week was 13 bucks for the lift ticket.
maybe they'll charge each kid like 3 or 4 bucks for the ride, no big deal.
well tommarow im gonna talk to the director and see what he says. if its a go, i'll worry about prices later.

we'd be playing at an actual field... not at the school somewhere.
and i'll make sure this club doesn't blow.
if its not sweet i'll fix it.
