I Feel Bad...
So last weekend we had this pretty big pb game (about 26 people). Well there was one kid who showed up to play and I didnt know him at all. He was about 10-12 years old. Anywho, we played a game where he wound up being on my team. I was crouched down behind a bunker on a hill covering the right flank of the hill while some of my other teammates were getting shot the hell up trying to take the middle of the field. Well this kid was tasked with laying cover fire for some of the faster players in the field, but instead he got piss scared and came running back up the hill on the right side. I didnt think the other team had got to the hill yet but I wasnt quite sure so as this kid ran up the hill I lit him up pretty good. What I feel bad about is that everyone was giving this kid a hard time the whole day like shooting him after he was obviously out and things of that nature. He was being a pretty good sport about it all day, but I couldnt help but think back when I was his age and people picked on me. I hated it. So I guess my point is that I feel bad about lighting this kid up (12-15 shots with the RT on that actually hit him) since he was on my team. Although he should have stayed on the field and helped the others who were on my team trying to take the other side of the field and it probably wouldnt have happened. Would any of you shot him?

My mask was a little foggy and it was starting to get dark. Plus we never wore any sort of team identification so it was kind of hard to tell who was who. All I knew was I didnt want the enemy team coming up the right flank of that hill and bunkering everyone behind that wall so I shot at what I percieved to be an enemy before I really saw who it was.

Basically the kid was running in the direction that an advancing enemy would, it was dark, visibility was bad, and no identification.
Mistaken Identity=Friendly Fire

If the kid wasn't doing his job and making it harder on the rest of the team I could see firing a cupple shots his way but hitting him 12 times that's a bit much.... you should feel bad you @$$. Did you atleast apologize?

I feel better now
I had a similar but totally differnt scenario. He was 13 or 14 but smaller than most of the 10 to 12 year olds that play with us from time to time. He was also on the other team when I well creamed him. I have severly hopped up tippman 98 repsonse trigger well worn sear. Its fast like really really fast. From about 20 feet he got a full burst all over his chest and head. I think at least 6 hit him. Made him cry and wimper. But he was dealing with it. He was really small. I felt horrible. I told him id cover his paint any time he wanted to play with us in the future but I havent seen him again. God his parents must have seen the welts and said he could never play again. Now how many times did you light up your own team mate I might find you after a game and accidentaly find the sweat spot on my RT trigger job and swear it was an accident on you. Just a thought, might be others out there thinking that too so make sure your wearing your mask well off the field of play. Just a thought. But I am an ass hole.

Thats exactly what happened with my 98c. It was cold and the RT was acting funny all day. It would either let off 25-30 rounds or only shoot one at a time. Also the kid never said he was out so with the poor visibility I assumed I hadnt hit him yet. All of you with a 98c know how poor the accuracy is on those stock barrels. I did apologize to him after the game thats how I knew I hit him so many times. Does anyone here have a 98c with a response trigger? If so do you have the same sort of firing problems when its cold?

Part of the game. 12-15 shots may be a bit excessive, but gun errors happen. again, just part of the game. If he was retreating, I wouldnt feel bad. And WTF is up with not wearing team ID?!?! Your field is BEGGING for little kids to get lit up...

There arent any "Regulation Fields" in Anchorage that I know about but there are areas set up to play in (no refs, refreshments, shops etc). I didnt count on 26 people showing up I only thought people I knew were going to be there so team ID wasnt a big concern when I left the house. One thing that did kind of concern me was that kids parents werent even out there. He showed up with his friends and only one of them was just barely old enough to drive out there.
