The Art of War
Some of you should consider reading it. Any "tactic" that you have preformed in Paintball, and any "advice" a general at a Scenario Game has told you, probably came from this book.
The Book: The Art of War
The Auther: Sun Wu (a.k.a. Sun Tzu; Master Sun)
Here are af few thing taken from the book:

I am currently reading The Art of War. If you plan to get it, be warned that there are about 20+ differnt versions of the book. The one I chose, is by Roger T. Ames. It has an introduction of wtf "The Art of War" is, and why there are so many versions of it.

I will work on this thread when I get home; more explanation. Plan to see some quotes of Sun Tzu in my Sig in the future
Peace...
I mean WAR!

people tend that military tactics work well in paintball, but they dont, no matter when they were from. i may read it anyways, i've heard its an interesting book, but i doubt it will help much in paintball.

This book isn't MADE for paintball, so of course all of it won't be helpfull to paintballers. But a majority of it does relate to stradegies used in paintball.
In Example:
Remember the example I have above,

My book is:
- HARDCOVER
- 321 pages
- 1.2 x 9.5 x 6.4 in.
- Ballantine Books
- February 1993
You might not like it, it is about history, and not all of it is just phrases, There In There, but thats just not the only thing. But it gives me something to read in class, so w/e.

The best way to be a better players is this:
Go out and play. Everything you read goes out the window when you get into a game with better players. If you got this book goin through your head you are thinking too much about other **** and not the game.

Reading a book won't help you get better at paintball.

Your not listening...
It is just like if you told a noob, that maybe he should try to hide behind a bunker, instead of having his ass hang out. He will probly listen to you if thinks back about all the times he got shot in the ass.
Just beacuse the book doesn't have a title like "Ultimate Paintball Field Guide" doesn't mean you can't learn. Some of you are saying Paintball is nothing like real life combat, part of that is right. But that is the CLOSEST thing there is to paintball, so you might as well learn about combat.
If you learn to "translate" phrases like "If active, appear non-active" into paintball form, basically, you can make this book into a paintball Bible.
Here:

Conclusion: Knowledge
Some of this advice can mostly just help you in Scenario (War like) paintball games. But what paintballer has never went into "Stealth" mode on a normal, local field, weekend.
I am only through part of the book, once I completly read it I will post a thread about what I have learned, and I garentee I will teach you something you havn't thought of.
I'm not saying people don't know about most of this stuff, but I am just saying that there is allways something to learn, no matter your experiance.

Complicate?
Why does it complicate?
You mean more complicated to play against? I agree

I don't agree with you closing the Tookie thread, infact I am pretty pissed.
However,
I do agree with you here. That stuff is common knowledge. Obviously if you know the way the other team plays, you will play better. Obviously if you 'when seen, don't be seen' or what ever... Duh. Go read a PB2X and learn how to snap shoot, run through, run and gun, etc... REAL skills. Not stupid stuff that every one knows, or can conclude.
I can just see you saying something like this:
"Look guys, he says sun tzu said this: 'Shoot the enemy before they shoot you...' " and then you make up some long explanation...

There's more to the book than just that, I was just using that as an example.
