Forsaking semis
Well, I'm finnally doing it. I'm quitting semi play entirely, and focusing solely on pump. I have nothing against semi play, but its become less and less exciting for me. It just can't match the rush of playing pump. I'm at the point where I am outplaying many of the local tourney ballers with my phantom, and its just so much more fun, and challenging. Plus, I'll save tons of money on paint. I'm upping my phantom and selling off my Imp, and all my semi gear (pm me if interested, I'll give you the ebay links). So, anyone else here play JUST pump?

No, I don't but I think playing solely Pump would be really fun, and an awesome feeling to be owning people with $500+ Markers.

While i intensley enjoy using my phantom and do so for just about any game that isnt with my team mates (such as the 05 grand finale) i dont think i could leave semi play entirely. Do you plan on owning more than just one phantom?

I may. I want to get mine annoed, but I can't be without it for 4-6 weeks so I might buy something else while its in the shop. what I'd really like is a carter, but I'm not gonna drop $500 on one.

I don't know of anyone who plays just pump, althought I enjoy fooling around with my pump here and there.

Pump is great, but there is no way I could quit semi alltogether. Especially seeing as how I just completely redid my setup. I do enjoy the occasional pump game though.

Ive done it a couple times...always end up buying a nicer semi again though. You can't truely say you are killing everyone in tourny play because it just isn't the case. you can't play back with a pump...not if you wanna lay down any kinda cover. get a ccm they are cool you can also speed up if needed.

I have never played pump but it doesnt sound as fun as playing with semis I cant see myself playing pump because I go through paintballs way to fast.

Thats why I don't play back. I won't kill in tourneys, but against tourney level players, including a few d3 and d2 guys, I do quite well. Rec speedball with tourney players isn't the same as tourneys with tourney players, but still. I always play front. THats where my advantage is. I can move twice as fast as anybody else on the field, because my entire setup weighs about as much as a normal frontmans pack. Last weekend I made the snake off the break 4/5 attempts. All it takes is a backman to lay down a lane over my shoulder off the break, and a good dive. Semi play has started to bore me, My movement is limited, and I have to rely more on my gear to get eliminations. I can be so much more aggresive with a pump. PLus, pulling a run trough with a pump is the most incredible feeling I've ever had in my entire paintball experience. And bunkering someone with a pump, when they're shooting an ego, and seeing the dumbfounded look on everyone's faces is priceless.
NYY, don't worry, I'm not forsaking semi players, I have nothing against throwing down 15bps ropes. Makes it more fun, it's just not for me.
