Cold Weather paintball

I can't last another winter without paintball, so I'm going to try and work around it. The problem is my paintballs got cold and brittle in my hopper during winter, and I often have problems in ~45 degree weather or under.

I'm trying to think of how to insulate and lightly heat my hopper so that the paintballs stay at 50-60 degree temperature, and I'll do the same for my co2 tank. The problem is I can't think of any material that I could wrap my hopper in to keep it warm that would last for hours and would also be compact enough to not be a problem.

My paintball withdrawal is growing. I've already developed a twich and my hands are starting to shake. Does anyone have any ideas for what I could use to keep my hopper warm?

If your field stocks RPS paint, or allows byop, use Polar ice, or if not available, Menace.

hmm, wrap your hopper....
first off you would have to wrap your hopper, and the paintballs in storage too because it defeats the purpose of wrapping up your hopper if the balls are already frozen.

just grab clothes and drape them over the hopper, then bind it with string, small rope, bungee cords, what ever.
do the same for your paintballs.

if you really want to get technical, go to some place like wal-mart, and ask for a foil blanket. these blankets are made of layers of foil, plastic, and other materials im not sure of, and are made to keep you warm in really cold weather incase of an accident. cut it up and use that to tie to your hopper. that would keep the hopper a good 10-15 degrees warmer.

heres a pic of what i mean

Dont try to insulate your co2 tank. It makes things worse if you suceed in making the tank heat up. A co2 cover is perfectly fine, but dont do stupid things like wrap your tank in handwarmers (yes, i've seen it done) and its not the smartest thing to do.

You may go ahead and try to insulate your hopper however. Clothes, small towels, anything will work. Heres a tip: Get a large cooler or thermos or something that is meant to keep hot things hot and cold things cold. Buy a few of thoes heat pads that go in the microwave, put them in the microwave, wrap them in towels, and bring all your paint outside in the cooler/thermos/whatever. This will keep your paint in good shape, just careful not to get it hot. Remember, about room temperature. Dont go crazy with heat pads and remember to wrap the pads in lots of towels. Your paint doesn't stay in your hopper very long anyhow, this way your balls will be warm before they go in the hopper and you should be fine.

Oh if its that, put a few hand warmers on the hopper. That way the balls will be kept nice and toasty.

Hand warmers on the outside of the shell of the hopper (Layer of paper towel or two inbetween if the warmers get HOT) And then another layer of your choice over it, held down how you please. I suppose that would work fine. About the CO2, there isn't anything you can do, just avoid long ropes of paint. Or shooting too much in a short time for that matter.

I'd use Polar Ice but none of the stores nearby sell them. I'm gonna try using the hand warmers and try to balance it out so the paintballs don't get too hot and start melting. Thanks.
