mark my words, when pb gets "bigger" and the NPPL is viewed more like the nba or nfl and ****, pb will make it to the olympics. It would not take much for a country to round up its best paintballers and put them in the olympics.
who knows how long or when though

are you delusional? why would they approve such a lopsided sport? imagine how good a team made up of the best players in the us, do you think the team from england would have a chance? australia? china? france? chile?

no, america would win every match by a long side. now considering the state of internation relations in the relativly recent past and forseeable future do you really think a council would approve the sport?

You know why it will never get into the olympics, or X-Games, Arrogant, Snobby, little 13 year old kids.

But then again, those kids arent good anyways.

if i said never in that post you might have had a point. i just said in the forseeable future. and considering the us is leading the world in terms of player base by a large margin this is true.

think of it this way: the best players from all the us teams(dynasty, trauma, xsv, ect) vs the best players from brit teams(nexus, tigers, shockwave). it would be even more dramatic in countries were pb is even less developed(singapore, south africa, ect).

if that doesnt register imagine football becoming an olympic sport except 2x.

Just a litte sidenote: Online petitions do nothing whatsoever. That being said, I have yet to figure out why the X-games haven't adopted Xball style play.

Paintball will be in the X-games long before it enters the Olympics. Why? Drugs. An article from APG explained it all pretty neatly, I'd give credits but I can't even remember which issue it was. Anyways, in a nutshell:
Paintball has no drug control whatsoever. Olympics has TONS of drug control. Trying to all of a sudden implement strict drug control just so Paintball could be accepted into the Olympics would be extremely hard.

I think we will in fact be seeing more national and international acceptance of Paintball over the next few years; the ESPN series covering the 2005 NPPL will be a tremendous help, and is a huge step in and of itself.

i honestly doubt that paintball will even be able to maintain its popularity in like 20 years.

drk: your right its moving forward, but fast enough to join the xgames in the next couple years i doubt it.

i think we just need to accept that pb will never be a tv success. non-players dont understand it or are interested in it at all. and players are massivly annoyed by the show's dumbing down of the coverage to attract non-players.

think about it though, not to start arguing, because arguing on a message board is ****ing retarded, but i bet alot of sports(or anything) in general never started out all that strong, IMO i think pb has started alot stronger than alot of things, and I defiantly think it can become much "bigger" than it is now
time will tell i guess
on a side note pbbob, can u pm me where u got your gun anno'd at?

I bet skateboarders from the X-games don't consider it that extreme. It's normal to us because we do it all the time. Like Jeluso said, I'm sure the thought of 15bps per player and the whole thing with getting shot would make whoever decides what sports get into the X-games think twice.

Ok, you guys are totaly overlooking canada in this. You may not realize it, but Paintball is pretty hella big here. We have lots of players, and you had best believe we can compete with america.

But then again, every year the biggest game would be Canada VS USA.

we do more than hockey, lol

canada has a large player base, but do they have a base of great pro players? they have a few players spread through the pro ranks, but look at their premier team - shockwave canada draws about half their players from ny.
