It would be really cool for paintball to be in the x-games but I don't think it will happen.
They can't judge paintball the way they judge all the other sports, in the x-games they judge you based on how good your tricks are and what not. And you cant really do that in paintball.
It's hard to explain what im trying to say but i think you get the point

this has been talked about before...i doubt itll ever happen. all the sports in the x-games are about getting huge air, doing flips, etc. paintball isnt in that category

Kazzo: you mean they couldnt have a team win. This last year tho they had a motox thing with a pitcrew team i think they could just as easily hand out medals to a team.
flowbob: The x-games stands for extreme games. Meaning extreme sports. Not every sport in the x-games is all about big air. Streetluging as well as other sports never leave the ground. They run cirtain sports because of their poularity and promotability. Paintball is an extreme sport and it is popular enough to promote. I think if they get enough specators and enough peole watching it that they would do it.
I think it verry well could happen.

Really good point. Makes a lot of sense. Paintball just doesn't fit. The sports in x-games now, they judge you based on performance. If paintball were in it, they can't judge your team by watching you play, and they can't award points to see who moves onto the next round or whatever like in real paintball tournies. It just doesn't fit with the rest of the things. That's probably why paintball isn't in there.

It would work in the Olympics, but it just seems out of place, lol. I wouldn't mind it in there.

It wouldn't really fit anywhere because for people that do not love paintball, it just isn't very much fun to watch. People running around in a field shooting each other. For us paintballers, its great fun, but for the people who don't really understand what paintball is all about, I dont think they would find it very fun.
Also, most people I've asked about paintball (grownups, teachers, etc) think paintball isn't a sport. They all think it's a hobby. I think the whole deal with Oliver Lang will help some, but to most people it just doesn't seem to involve that much skill. My parents view it as a little hobby where I run around and shoot my friends. They don't even consider it remotely as a sport, and when I told them I wanted to be a professional paintball player when I grew up, they just laughed at me, and it makes me really angry. I just wish they understood that to us, paintball is the same thing as the NFL is to others. They just don't understand.

Well, basketball isn't fun to everyone.
And it's because nobody knows about tournament paintball. When the average ignorant person thinks of paintball, they think of a bunch of guys hiding in bushes in the woods.

well if somebody actually did some good marketing and put more paintball on tv then it might become more mainstream.......then they might include paintball in the olympics. But maybe it's just me cause id love to see more good stuff about paintball on tv or anywhere.

If they aren't doing it it's obviously not easy. I think we'd all like to see more paintball on tv and everywhere else, not much we can do about it

i dont think its in france its very popular in south america though its also the third most popular extreme sport besides skateboarding and roller blading that means that it beats out snowboarding and bmx
also there are many wierd sports in the olympics (ping pong like that isnt a hobby and maybe omnikin ball if you have ever heard of that) and many shooting sports so this is like combining shooting sports w/ team sports a great match for the olympics
