Speedball.
I started in the woods, but even then it wasn't "sneaking" or anything. We just started about 50 yards apart and rushed each other, taking cover behind whatever was available.
Since I started going to the field, I've realized it's about as cheap as playing at home and I can play longer cause I can get refills.

Your gonna get a ton of woodsballers in PBF, more of the hardcore speedballers at PBN. There are the handful of people here that are the hardcore speedballers.
I personally prefer speedball.

Speedball. Woodsball is nice for starting, but speedball is just more fun imo.

woodball FTW
and i think thats an over exaggeration there balla, most paintball boards are majority speedballers for whatever reason, most likely 'cause they're more hXc about it than your average everyday woodsballer(which most paintballers are). when i first came this board was almost only speedball, the scenario and recball boards were added later. i bet we get a pretty even split, leaning speed.

Wow what a thoughtful post.
I like both but prefer Woodsball. Speedball is like the combat part broken down to its very raw core. Its all the shooting and jumping and leaping and covering and reloading yada yada yada. Woodsball is the actual simulation of a paramilitary conflict.
And for these guys who keep saying that Woodsballers are amateurish or just out there for fun - sure. That statement applies to a lot of speedballers too. Don;t make infammatory statements. Like this gentlemen up above my post - what a fire starter! Also a closed minded and ignorant statement. I have made them before so I am not innocent, but trying to correct it.
There are TONS of woodsballers who kick serious game. Show respect and get respect.

speedball for me, much faster paced, and i prefer a solid bunker over soft cover anyday, i dont like woodsball because they can see you but cant hit you, and vice versa, in speedball if there in the open you can hit them, if there behind a bunker you cant. thats my philosphy

For me personally its speedball, but honestly the whole thing is personal prefrence. If you just want to have a good time with friends and dont want to spend much money then woodsball. But if you're more into the whole fast paced slidn into bunkers thing then speedball.

I prefer speedball, faster paced=more adrenaline rush. Also, anybody can hide in the woods and wait for somebody to unsuspectingly walk buy and shoot them. In speedball, you can't wait around, or you will get bunkered. You have to keep laying down paint, and moving and communicating. It takes more skill to play speedball, and you don't necicarily shoot more paint. Nowadays, when I do happen to find myself in the woods (When all the walk on people vote for a woods game usually) I shoot more paint there, since the games are longer.
I also go into speedball games playing hopperball occasionally. I get more practice moving and snap shooting, as opposed to laning. And just now, I'm competing in an indoor 3-man tourney with a 50 ball limit on each match, and these matches usually end up with people doing some insane things that you would probably never see without limited paint.

i love both, but its hard to find a speedball field around here without driving 50 miles...gas is too expensive... so we just do the old fashioned pallet ball speedball in a clearing in the woods. lol hey do what you can to get your game on.

Sure that option is available. Choose it at your own risk of being bored to death.
