Talking Money=Painball Superiority

As most of you know, better guns come at higher prices.

Take this scenario into account.

2 Players. Both of them have been playing for, lets say 1 and a half years.
They both go to the field everyweekend and play their hearts out.
Whenever Bill isn't at the field or in his backyard practicing his walking skills or just dreaming about paintball, he's working, because he knows money is a valuable resource in paintball...

On the other hand, John, he loves paintball but whenever he's not at the field he's letting his gun sit in the basement while he's out and messing around with his friends in his sub-division.

Sure, people may make fun of Bill because of his extreme determination and practically obsessive approach to paintball. You make fun of him, however, he'll light your ass up on the field.

John, is more of a practical joker type of person who can take a joke but meet him on the field and its like he turned into a totally different person.

The Local Field, Paintion Location,(made that up), is holding a local tournament this Month.

Bill, has been saving up and preparing for the tournament by working hard, making money and honing in on his paintball abilities.
Through this hardwork, he just ordered a Smart Parts Impulse, Halo B with Rip Drive, 47/3000 Crossfire Tank and a J&J Ceramic Barrel. And went not practicing in his backyard he's working hard and making this gun the best he can get out of it.

John, isn't much of a person who dedicates and works hard for most things paintball, however is something he is good at and finally decides to practice.
"Too little, too late" is probably the best expression to use in John's situiation.

It's the day of the tournament and both Bill and John are pumped up.

Bill's team, The Swarm, has practiced long nights together and are ready to play.

John's team, Wild Card, hasn't practiced too much and their guns may not be up to par with the other rope shooters this tournament is seeing.

The tournament starts and Bill's team takes an early lead, as John's team is left in the dust in 4th place out of a possible 8.

Down to the last matches, The Swarm is still in 1st place demanding a huge lead and Wild Card is barely hanging on to their 4th place position.

The tournament is over, with The Swam taking home 1st and going to party the night out at their favorite resteraunt. They can hear the champagne corks zinging through the air as they eat up their victory dinner like bears preparing for hibernation.

Wild Card, is heading home sad with a 4th place finish. They head home sad and decide they are going to prepare for the next big tournament in April.

4 years later... its Wild Card vs. The Swarm in the NPPL Super 7 Finals.
The Swarm pulls it off thanks to dedication and hardwork.

tl ; dr / Moral - Hardwork and dedication are keys to succes in Paintball.
(if you read it thanks and yes i did make it all up)

ropes? an impulse?

come on man, i could work a day and have enough scrilla to buy that. get some actual good guns in there and that would make the story a lot better. and, you dont have to be outside to practice walking or dream i just do it whenever im reading something on the internet (woah, kinda like that story eh?), watching tv, or on the phone. even at school! hey, theres an idea!

anyways, my point, you dont have to be THAT dedicated to be great. everyone should have a little fun too. its not all about the game for me, but its about 80%-20% and thats enough for me.

tl;dr - read it dumbasses.

I'd kick "The Swarms'" ass without the 100% dedication.

Yeah me too... Hey if that one guy didnt want to practice and ended up in 4th place....oh well.... its not like his life depended on a 1st place win..... you always get what you put into something. So he should sell toilet plungers instead.....

dedication-yes
money- not so important

Ive seen a crew with half the team using splatmasters and they placed 1st. you dont need the best gun, or hopper or tank.. you dont need to spray paint all over the field to hope to get a hit. you just need to be good. I mena look at the q loader system (which rocks) but seriously when will you actually shoot 31 bps in a tourney? i mean even if you can get your trigger to "bounce" legally, or whatever, you only need one hit, so say you hit your guy, if your good youll do it with at least 15 paintballs in roughly the same spot. "Overkill!!"

I can't shoot lefty or anything, I suck at snapping/diving, whatever. I took on a whole group of walkons w/ a custom 98(completely stock) and a revvy. They other team had spyders and other lower end electronic guns, I took them all. Money don't mean crap, its how you play, sure having a nice gun will make you think your better, but your not you still suck on the inside.
