I went on pbclassifieds and asked for a team that would be willing to provide me gear in exchange for me managing the team and lending out money when needed etc. I got this email-

Hello Jay, my name is Steve, and I am the captain and
owner of the Amateur 7-Man team, Unreal. We play lots
of huge events in the northwest. And we win almost
all of them, ranking in everyone, (between 1st and
3rd.) We have been looking for a good team manager.
You sound highly qualified for the position. We have
sponsorship from Bob Long, and Redz. If you decide to
take this offer, you will start as soon as you can,
and we are prepared to offer you a 2006 Bob Long Alias
Intimidator, as a down-payment, with new free gear,
jerseys, paint, etc. every following month. We get
extras free from sponsors, so if you are interested,
the offer is on the table.

Nothing, i guess. It just seems like participating in 800-900 tournaments in 6 years is far out, but he could be truthful..

If this is true then i've got a hell of a deal

If you get the free gear then I would say it is worth it, you can go to bob longs site and e-mail them and see if they sponsor a team unreal and tell them the entire situation

Somewhere in the AIM convo he mentioned you setting up tournaments or something. Me being cynical, and this sounding too good to be true, that kind of sounds like they will ask you to put down a down payment for the entry fee or something, the expectation that you will get paid back... but you won't.

Anyways, ask for a team site, ask to speak to all of the team members, find out who specifally their sponsors are and go ask them if they really are sponsoring this team "Unreal", and go watch them do a practice.

If everything checks out... awesome for you.

Owen and I used to do this to random people, like offer them sponsership and to play for dynasty.

yeah sure, 17 year olds (high school) playing for 8 months of the year going everywhere, for paintball tournaments? pfft. sorry that you got your hopes up, but look into it

Yeah, you need to do some research. Just like everyone else said go to boblong or whoever they said they were sponserd by and ask if they sponsor a team called Unreal. Usually though bigger paintball sites list who they sponsor in a sub page. So it shouldnt be that hard to find.

800 tourns, that right there is reason to call shens, there arnt consistantly 2 tourneys a week, any where. during the school year fields usually arnt open much less host tourneys on weekdays.

I also doubt they were playing tournys when they were 11 years old..and winning consistantly.

6-8 tourny's is little much but its probably possible
but its shens that they've played 900 tourny's and won 800 of them
they would be all over the internet

Yeah...sorry but I have never really heard of ANY paintball team playing 800 games...and having 800 first place trophies eithier. Thats ridiculous and probably a hoax. Sorry man.

theres no way in hell they have played that many turnies, but he might be legit in asking about a manger, so check it out, but no way they have played that many 7 man amateur events....might be able to get hooked up w/ them though, through them winning or sponserships or w/e, defiantly check it out more
