yeh whoever this team is just yoinked a local teams logo... Buzzkill is the local team and they have had that logo for a longgg time about 5 years give or take but i thought that was terrible... heres the locals team website they played at cup last year and well jus check their site out to see if youve ever seen them at event. http://buzzkillpaintball.com/

but yeh this is a straight ripoff no 2-ways about it.

Unless they protected that logo by copyright, they can't do anything about it.

havent talked to them yet seein as i jus found it about 2 hours ago and i told one of the guys sons...and he didnt know if they had the image copyrighted or not the website says copyrighted down at the bottom..

Even if the website is copyrighted, that doesn't mean the logo is.

They're alittle too similar for that. I'd be very ticked off, but not much you can do about it really... at least not by law.

The logos on those jerseys and on that site aren't exactly the same. There are differences between the two.

Actually copyrighting the logo would do nothing -- you would first have to identify that this was original work and that you were the artist and that you would be damaged if the image was used without your permission.
In order to be protected, it would need to be registered as a trademark and then they have protection as a "propriatary image" that represents them. But that costs bucks, and face it, its a paintball team and not a corporate logo or anything like that. There would be no way to demonstrate in court that you are being damaged by the "infringement" of your trademark.

Lastly, if the picture, or some reasonable facsimile is in the public domain, then anyone can use it.

Be as pissed as you want, but that is the hard cold truth.

So if you want to be technical, your friend's team is in actuality in infringement of a registered image from another source.

well its not my team i was jus baffled someone would use the EXACT logo as another team. i jus found that amazing.

Yes, something i know about.

All grapic design(logos, pictures, etc) is copywrited as soon as it is created and saved on something that has a date format.....a computer maybe?

If your friends saved that logo on a computer along with rough drafts of it they can take the other to court and sue, or force the other to create a new logo.

It may sound stupid but it has happened before. you just need proof that you had the logo around longer than the other.

I suggest contacting the team first before you start calling a lawyer.
