Lasoya pulls in more than $200,000 a year through his salary, sponsorship endorsements and clinics.

Like they said, most pros don't make enough to make a living out of playing, and most of the money they do make isn't tournament winnings. It comes from clinics, royalties (ie. Dynasty Dysected DVDs) and other sources. Many players have a fairly steady job within the industry, at a field, or working for a paintball related company to support themselves.

all of them keep their daytime jobs or do part-time stuff. The sheer cost required to get to that level drains away many of their earnings. All their earnings come from winnings (not something you can count on) sponsorships (only if you're a big name) and giving clinics.

the really good pros are getting themselves signed onto contracts with a steady pay. Again that requires you climb to the top and dominate for a few years.

most pros don't make enough just by playing to make a living....but most of them work in the paintball industry some other way, such as owning or working at a store/field....or working for companies that make paintball products

Because no one else on this forum has the same goal

The vast majority of ballers have jobs outside of paintball, even pro players.

You do that. Do you know how many paintballers wanna be pro? You either have to be really talented. Or have years and years of dedication. It's not like in a year you're gonna be pro like Chris, or Ollie.

...i know of ppl that have only been playing for about two years and they are pro...

like in pb2x it interviews pro players with different questions and one question was "how long have u been playing paintball" and they say 2 years...or something like that, its not very long...they just have a natural talent for it

Exactly. But not everybody plays for 2 years and goes pro. You have to be very talented or have years and years of dedication.

Are you stupid?

If you knew anything, you would know that most players always hold a day job. That varies from owning Chipotles like Ryan Greenspan to owning a store like Rich and G Garcia.

Not all players are like Chris Lasoya and Ollie Lang. Sure G Garcia may make $50,000+bonuses for winning tourneys, etc; but he has to think beyond this year and into how secure he wants his future to be.

The amount of money they make all depends on the price of weed where ever they are.
