need some advice about new marker
I need some advice about buying a new marker. I used to play tourneys about 8 or 9 years ago but got out because I had some pretty severe injuries. My budget is about 400-450. I've always wanted a cocker, but I hear they are a lot with work and maintence with the three ways, short stroking, timing, etc etc which kind of scares me because I've been out of the game for so long. Any advice?? Thanks alot!

I think that's going over his budget.
Get an Ion, a Halo B, and a 68/3k compressed air tank (Or a 68/45 if you can find one used in good condition with a good hydro date.)

impulses are going very cheap ever since the new Ion came out. The ion is the step up from the impulse, its lighter, has eyes and are probably as upgradable. There are tonnes of ups for the ions and its a nice gun. On some sites they are going for 180 new. Great deal for a great gun.

is it $500 total or $500 for the gun?
essentially the promaster is a better impulse. They've improved the design more, making it smaller and lighter.

cocker maintenence problems = Rumors
Personally I wouldnt use anything else, and if you get an e cocker you wont have to worry about the 3-way or anything like that, plus they're fast as hell. Coincidentally I have 2 of them for sale

not to sound biased
but...
Ion: 180-200 new or used
Halo B: 70-100 new or used
68/4500 HPA 130-200 new or used
380-500 depening on whether u want new or used.
If you buy used that leaves ith like 70ish dollars for ups

cockers aren't really hard
If it ain't broke don't fix it...thats what you have to get through yoru head
but timing and doing stuff with the 3-way isn't that much of a problem, you only have to retime your 3-way if you use it a hell of a lot which will usually be like once a year and even then it's not that big a deal.
Short stroking...all you ahve to do...pull the trigger all the way, or just get an electric frame that way you don't have to worry about it.
