Paintball Marker question, I need a little help
Guys (or girls),
I am in the market for a new marker, my only problem is, I have been out of it for awhile. I still have my ol faithful Spyder Xtra. Although I hate putting it to rest, it is time to move on. I learned from playing last weekend, I need to upgrade to remain competitive.
My question is this... What markers out there are a good choice for a mid grade player. I think spending $1000 is out of the question, but $500 is not. I have looked at Spyder Electras, SP Ion's, SP Impulse, WGPs Karnivor E2, Mini E Oracle, Trilogy, and Black Magic. I will even look at a last years model as well, if you have any suggestions like that.
Any help you guys could give me would be great. Thanks in advance.

I would Recommend the Smartparts Ion. You can buy a good *HPA* tank and the gun for under $500. And you can upgrade it quite a bit. You can get a Virtue Board if 17bps isn't enough (Goes up to 24bps). You Will not chop balls frequently, its pretty rare.

I would go wit this:
ICD Promaster- $270
PE 68/4500 tank- $180
Tank Cover (w/e looks cool to you)- $20
Halo B- $90
Pod Pack w/ pods- $30-40
Total of........$600 if you get tank cover and spend $40 on the pack and pods. Just get a good NXE pack pretty cheap and you'd be down in the 550 range if you didn't get a tank cover. Your choice.

Guys, I can get a ICD promaster for $250. But, I can spend up to $500, is there anything else out there that stands out enough to justify spending another $250? Also, what kind of upgrades would you do to the ProMaster? If any?
Thanks M98Man, for the suggestion.

uhhh there r alot of good used guns such as shockers and that much but since u dont have hpa and an e hopper (im assuming) then i would go with ion, anybody who says otherwise obviously hates ion, my opioin is that ion is the one of the best for the money becuase its simple and u wont break it if u need any more info on ion pm me cause i love ions and ive got two

promasters won't break and u need to buy a lot more ups to get an ion to get to the level of a promaster and it will still feel like a toy. For a promaster you can get the stock reg +/- 2 so the only thing u would need to get is an asa/macroline (doesn't come with it). go with the promaster performs better than an ion and looks sweet.

First off. I think you should go to your local field and check out both guns. People who own them are more than likely to tell you all about them and let you pick them up and see how they feel.

for five hundred dollars i would sugeust (parden my spelling)a tippman a5. its a good reliable marker but is kinda a gas hog. and you will be able to get a tank mask and maybe some upgrades for 500 buck. upgrades: flatline barrel and egrip(legal on fields) or respose trigger(illegal on most fields)

first thing would be a new reg. icd guns almost always have problems with regs, idk if they have fixed them or not umm other then that a new barrel is always nice, i don't know if they make new bolts for them, and they don't come stock with an asa sso that to. the only real necessity is the asa wich would run you maybe 30 if that(or mroe, don't have time to research), and then later move to the barrel and reg.
