Owners and Refs ambush Private game?
This goes down for a first. Today at Realms of Ruin, located in Illinois. During a Attack and Defend game, one of the owners and 2 other refs stormed the field in a so called attempted to to haze a new ref. They approached our team who were dug awaiting the arrival of the on coming team. The Owner and 2 refs approached the bunkers hailing balls and the game ref took cover behind our players who got hit. A shock came to the Owner and Ref when the meet a crap load of return fire and several choice cuss words. One of Players were Ejected Because he chewed the owner out Calling him childish Jag off.
I don't know if this is isolated case or this kind of thing goes on at other fields, if it does it was new to all of us.
Needless to say it was a very poor call to raid a game with out prior warning.
All players left the field and will never return there again in support of the person who was ejected.
I mostly come here for game tips and info and have never registered until today. I felt compelled to share this story with you all.

they did that during ths start of a game? that's completly uncalled for, even if the players WERE warned beforehand. "hazing" of new members should never interrupt player who are ready and willing to play (not to mention that they had paid for the event)

They did that During a game. We believe that the Ref had gotten the word early in the day because he seemed real spooky and was standing near cover all day. Now for those who are not familiar with this field, they are are well known field and Is the Old Challenge park which held the World tourney this year. Needless to say their professionalism needs a lot of work.
We fully understood why are player was ejected for cussing them out, but he shouldn't of had to be placed in that situation.
The team we were playing took all year to organise to be able to play them. This was a mere grudge match that resulted us all siding together.
The owners words were " this my place and i can do what i want" He also refused to give the guy his Admission fee back ( i didn't really matter to him) But it was just the point.
The owners reasons were that he broke the rules and cussing out Judge.
Our reply was" so were does it state that at any giving time, The owners and judges can enter a game and fire on our players?
That was a very bad situation and is definately Not the same place i have played on many times before.

Sounds like something that would have happened at my field.
The field owner should have told you guys.
The field owner is just pissed off because he got owned by someone he considered an infereor paintballer (he probably thought you were all n00bs)

You said he was doing it to his new ref, a 'first day on the job' kinda thing? Then he should have told the players what was going on. I would have at least.

that's moderately funny...... except for the fact that the field owner sounds like a cast-iron ***** to deal with. He wouldn't give him the field fee back? that's gay. I wouldn't go back if I was that kid.

All of us are grown adults most of us in our late 30s. A few are former military being 2 rangers, 2 marines and a few from the navy. Some are Firemen and cops. Many have kids as old as the refs.
During the course of the game, there were players that had to get paint and air refills. When the refs were around to gather for the next match, players were told to move to the next location and leave the others getting paint and stuff behind. The refs reply was that he was told to move along from his boss. We asked if the others could join in when they got their supplies, the answer was NO, not until a ref escorts them into the game and at that time, there was no available refs around. I told the ref we didn't come here to let people sit out, just be patient. Holds up were resulted due to O ring being cut from the machines during fill up, There was a few gun rentals that had no air or the guns were broken some way and the refs were no where to be found when wanting to play the next game.
This place was absolutely the worst place i have played and i have played in some real dumps before and had a good time.

The field I used to work at, the owner would allow alcohol to be brought and drank... (Right form of drink?) Sometimes he would drink with them...

After starting my own business myself, im more aware of how businesses run and what to do if and when they start slipping. Its hard to explain, but dealing with numerious screenprinters im more aware of shady business ethics and whatnot.
