that's not too bad 1400 of a 68/45 - that's about what an ion gets...
imo the front battery thing is strange - i'm used to havin' a comfortable reg in my hand and the battery tucked away in the handle...
i dont think this marker is going to fly off the shelf - but then again, i thought the ion was going to flop as well... but i thought that the ion was giong to be bug-tastic and one of the most testy markers you could touch...
i just kindof thought that any electro-pneumatic marker for under $500 was going to be crap though... boy was i wrong - eh?
even if it doesn't flop i dont think it will be huge though - it's just above what people want to pay for a marker if they're not that into paintball or on a low budget, and below what people are willing to pay for an amazing high end if they love the sport... so if it does survive, imo the new company wont become rich off of it...
we'll see though, right? new and innovative things come and go - it's often the marketing that'll decide the survival or not...

It makes it sound as if the trigger frame and feedneck is made entirely of plastic, which they aren't.
Oh yea, because polymer is so much different than plastic. The body and reg aren't but the feedneck, frame, and trigger are. Maybe there are metal parts within that plastic, but it is indeed plastic.

Not to mention shockers, which have been out for like 4 years. Its not surprising to me, I'm just comparing. I'm very interested to see how the internals of the mini work.
With the hype that this gun is getting already, its gonna succeed. It'll take over the mid range price gun area.
With the PMR

That's what I've been saying!! The feedneck and trigger frame are metal, they just have plastic on them... only thing that's completely plastic is the trigger.
And the PMR and Mini being in the $400 range makes perfect sense to me. The way I think of it... is you could get an Ion, buy a new feedneck barrel, on/off, board, other things etc... end up paying $200-300+ on upgrades on a $180 gun; and you end up with... something that will be around as good as a PMR or Mini! Except it's still in essence an Ion, so you'd still have the bad reputation of shooting an Ion and it would still have all the shortcomings of an Ion...
...Or you could just go ahead and buy a PMR or Mini, end up probably paying the same amount or less than you would tricking out an Ion, and have all around better gun.
These guns will be like what the Promaster could have been if they included a clamping feedneck, on/off, if ICD had better stock regs, and better customer support...
At least that's what I'm predicting. Maybe I'll be wrong.
^^^that sounds reasonable. i don't think the mini or the pmr will fly off shelves at first but they will definetly be around for a long time in my opinion
Oh I think they will fly off the shelves. On top of people looking to get into the sport that have a bit more cash to spend on the gun than the average newcomer, these are gonna be wildly popular backup guns for the more serious player. And of course serious players who don't have the cash to afford some "real" high end guns, they'll be a hit with them too. There hasn't really been any nice guns to fill the $300-500 niche lately, I think these are gonna dominate this category.
