What's a good Scenario Gun?
What's a good Scenario gun that's under $350 and is NOT electric. (I don't want electric because I just want to use this gun to play with friends at there house.) I was thinking maybe a BT-4 Banshee or an A-5 With some upgrades look wise. What do you think?

Honetly, I would go electric. They are WAYYY better performance wise, and the only thing different is that it needs a 9 voly probably every two or three times you play, that is if it doesn't come with a rechargeable battery. If you choose to go electric, I would choose an SP-8, or any electric gun, that way you can play speedballm too. If you stick with mechanical, an A5 is a good choice, or the Banshee looked pretty good in the magazine. Just look around. Keep in mind, you are also going to need a mask, and don't go cheap on a mask, and an air system at least CO2 but I would go with compressed air.

If you really dont want electric, get an A5 with a really nice barrel and double trigger. My freind has one but its electric and it rocks, best A5 performance wise i have ever seen. His is a double trigger, freak jr. (he didnt like his flatline), and the egrip.

i already have an Ion and a mask and stuff I'm not just starting out i just need to know a nice scenario gun for me to play with when I go over to my friends house. I have a bunch of CO2 tanks and none of my friends have a scubba tank or anything like that. An A-5 sounds like a good choice.

The performance of an electronic A5 is really good though, take a look cause it runs good on CO2. My freind that has one won it at SCP during a raffle, lucky bastard. A5 + Egrip + flatline + double trigger. He was using a Genesis surge before.

A5s in my opinion are better than 98s, i dont know why but they just always seem to shoot better. That X7 one, ive heard bad reviews about it.

Yeah, that's the thing about the A-5 and the X7 is what I don't like. That Cyclone Feed System just makes it a huge target to get hit.

Do you really want a scenario gun or do you just want a simple mechanical marker to putz around with your friends? It sounds like you just don't want to outclass your friends with your ion while they're using their more recreational markers. Evening the playing field.
That being said you could save a lot of money by just buying a basic stacked tube blowback in green or black so it doesn't glow fluorescently in the woods.
By all means if you're into acting out scenario type games and you're going for realism go ahead and pick up a scenario gun but you may find yourself further ahead by saving some money on looks and putting it towards other things.

look into the AGD tac-one, or if you want an electronic marker, the E-tac.
They are identical to E-mag's, but with a milsim rail. Take the mil-sim stuff off and you have a top end tourny gun.

DO NOT get a response trigger. Egrips are much bettter. With responses you get a hard trigger pull wiht 2 modes that are hard to control. You either get total semi or slow ramping. Plus responses use extra CO2. Do not get a response trigger.

It really depends on what you are going for. Do you want just something basic that isn't a fancy smancy electric marker with all kinds of wizbang features? Or do you want something more geared towards realism?
For the first option, Tippmanns and Spyders will be fine. Phantoms are great as well.
For realism, there are several companies out there with stuff you can go after. If you want to stay with Tippmanns, OpsGear has alot of add-ons and attachments that make for some nice looking equipment. Miltech makes some really good markers that are designed after that M16 and MP5. I carry a Miltech MT66, it's designed after the
M16 and has alot of real-world features.
Tactical Paintball is also selling an AK47 that is manufactured by a Chinese company that makes actual AK47s. All the wood parts and some of the metal ones are actually AK47 parts. It has the same size and weight as a real AK.
Blackpoint Engineering has put out the MKX8, designed after the XM8 that was under consideration to replace the
M16. It's made of highy durable composite (very similar to the stuff they made the real ones out of) and is a nice marker.
There are alot of options out there. It really depends on what you are looking for.
Since this forum is mostly speedball players, most people on this forum will tell you to get electronic markers or to just play speedball in general. If you want a more scenario oriented opinion, feel free to PM me.

Looks like someone is getting upset over nothing
It was a gesture of help. Did I say "don't listen to any of them" ?
And I don't say this because I'm a "the knowing scenario baller and I look down upon you poor heathens." That's just bull****.
No, I'm not "the all knowing scenario baller."
I'm the guy who co-owned the US distributor for one of the predominant MilSim paintball markers in the US. Our company has dealt with the military, civilian agencies, and foreign governments for use of our markers for training. The military and local law enforcement uses our field for training because we provide a MOUT site and OpFor.
When it comes to MilSim, I've been around the black a few times. But that's not why I said he can PM me.
I say this because the majority of the opinions on this forum will be from speedballers. Those opinions are naturally biased towards that side of the sport. Granted, my opinions are biased to my side, but I think I'm a bit outnumbered here.
Last time I checked you couldn't post links to other paintball shops (the whole competing company thing I think). If he wants to know where to get the things I said, he can PM me.
If he wants to know specifics about those markers, he can PM me seeing as how, I don't know I own the ones I talked about.
So since I'm just trying to help the guy, it would probably be a good idea be a little more positive and a lot less hasty with your conclusions. Don't destoy his impression of the legitimacy of your opinions by throwing a fit at someone simply because of a helping gesture.
So please, calm down. There no reason for you to get all riled up.
