fitting my halo

hello i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to make the neck of my halo larger because when i had it on my BKO i had to sand it down to make it smaller but now on my promaster the clamping feednect cant clamp far enough to get it... so how can i make the neck larger to fit my promaster?

you can get tape to wrap around the neck, but make sure it sits on the feedneck flat. you dont want it to be bubbled up anywhere.

ya i was thinking of using some black electrical tape....

but also im wondering if anyone thinks i should cut down the neck because only about half of it can fit into my feedneck.. so is this a good idea? and if so how should i do it?

You really don't need to be cutting the neck on your Halo, I can't see anyway that could come out well. I'm looking at mine rigt now, there's only a small portion of it unsanded, so if they unsanded yours to fit a standard feedneck, there's only going to be small portion thats big enough to be held by it. If you cut it down that far, it's going to be top heavy, and you could run into a mess of other problems. Just stick with tape.

edit: plus, it's plastic, and it's really hard to cut that clean without it cracking.

electrical tape is a good quick fix.

Cutting down the feedneck is a semi-common mod done, usually to get the halo to sit as low as possible in no-rise feednecks. Just a hacksaw to the shells and the ball ramp.

Personally? I'd get a new feedneck. I used the stock one for awhile w/ my halo but it eventually broke the feedneck of my shells. Major bummer and it doesn't hold as well as a clamping feedneck can. AKA makes a nice feedneck for $25 and is the correct bushmaster threads.
