Blew two burst disks... what the hell.

Hey,

I bought a used ACI Bulldog 91/4500 tank a while back and two weeks ago, I screwed it into my gun and it blew a burst disk. So, I took it into my proshop to have it fixed and they put in a new disk (it looked old and crappy) and re-hydroed it even though I didn't even need it... they charged me $36 bucks!

So, I went and got it filled today and all seemed well. My dad and I were pulling out onto the highway when it blew the disk again and almost caused my dad to have a heart attack and crash the car. It all bled out and now I don't know what to do.

The place didn't fix it and I don't have a working tank for this weekend. What the hell.

What should I do? I believe I blew the 1.8k disk.

That really helped. A lot.

I have another tank, I'm just waiting for my cradle to come in.

1.8k is too low? That's what my shop put on it, and thats what it had before. It has a 1.8k and a 7.5k. Should I put something different on it?

I believe they went out of business, as I couldn't find their website a bit back when I looked for it...

i think the 1.8k is the burst disk that blows if to much pressure is entering the upper part of the reg.

It sounds to me like you reg is outputting extremely high. Did your OUTPUT pressure spike when the disk blew?

I have no idea if the output pressure spiked or not, it only has a gauge for tank pressure.

The output pressure is 800psi.
