How many referees on here?
I always like getting in touch with other proffessionals in the industry, refereeing is a very important part of this sport, and it is a very difficult job. I like to be in contact with as many as possible that share in this line of work.
So how many here referee paintball? Where at? you work with a field?

I ref at Combat paintball. If anyone aks where i work, i'll say a just go to my local paintball feild. They ask what do i do, and instead of saying i ref and all that, i tell them im the "In game safety coordinator for the entire playing district." It sounds more formal.

me and my cousin ref at the local field, hematoma paintball in north carolina. we don't really "work" for her, meaning we aren't on a payroll, but we are sponsored by the field and they are our home field so we help out by doing stuff around the field including reffing.

I own a paintball company in Maine, and work for a National company that specializes in Paintball Referee training. I would like to get a good group of referees togather that work for various paintball fields across the country. As kind of an area to exchange ideas, talk about tactics, and generally improve all of our skills by combining experience.
Also many companies have trouble gathering referees for special events, this would provide an opportunity to get in touch with "assistance refs" that may be able to travel to special events, this will both help fields and referees find employment.
Would anyone be interested in being involved with something like this?

Sounds like a good idea. When I get back home, I plan to get NPPL or PSP certified and work some nationally sponsored events.
I enjoy reffing almost as much as I like playing. If it weren't for the attitudes of some of the babies that play at times...

I was younger then 16 when I got into this buisness, theres nothing wrong with providing what experience you do have to the conversation, as well as learn what you can from those who have been doing it longer.
Alright Guys, I set one up - a General Referees Forum. "The Sporting Connection" my company discussion forum is linked in my signature, you can acess it by simply clicking on the banner in my signature.
Register on those forums then send me a pm, my member name is: tblier
Include in the PM your member name, that your a referee, and where you ref. and if you would like a little write up about yourself, i.e. how long you have been reffing, where you ref, how long you have been playing etc. and a picture if you have one. basicly a little profile. This will not be required to get access to the board, but it will just be part of a referee dedication space I am creating.
Once you PM me the requested information, I will PM you the password to the referees board - only referees will have access.
Thanks - see you on the boards.

I hate reffing.
I also hate refs. Especially the ones who pull more for no reason.

How about refs who make up rules on the spot? Like how the flag had to be in our posession for 5 seconds to get the points for the pull? That was totally awesome, it basically made my day.

Those are always some good ones.
How about the ones that pull you from the otherside of the field without checking you? Those are some fun ones. Especially the ones who do that to 4 of your players.
