you've been here long enough ot know we don't' like these sort of posts. I'm pretty sure there's a sticky someplace that tell markers and thier pricerange.
it also depends on what you're looking for. find out what you're intereted in and work from there.

The Rail is a very nice gun, but there are plenty of other options out there, it all depends on what you want. I had to make this same decision not that long ago, but i had 500 dollars instead. I bought a Smart Parts Nerve, which, i don't regret doing. It's fast, efficient, slightly upgradable, and only $425.

i was looking around myself and honestly the Mini looks amazing, the DP fusion is another possibility but im not exactly sold on its Design, reminds me to much of a VS with the eye covers and such. but if the mini is like the new ION or as im hearing it wouldn't be bad to try something else since it will be very available to shoot one at my field.
Besides my friend is getting a Mini so it wouldn't make much sense to buy the same marker as him.
I hear the Rail is as good as a DM if u put some serious ups on it, i hear the Epiphany is an Upped ION ( horrible body 2 ) And i hear the Promaster is like 50/50. although the team thats based where my field is uses Lasoya promasters and they keep it workin' great.

The Fusion is nothing like a Spyder. The Mini is nothing like an Ion. I don't understand why it matters what your friend buys. The rail can never be as good as a "real" DM/PM.

I wouldn't get the mini, it hasn't been out long enough, a people have been having some problems with it, and it's just not as upgradable as a rail is.
