Problems...
Well my brother is putting me down saying that i suk at paintball and
that his frends are way better than me and its really bothering me.
He says this because on sunday i went for the first time with his
frends to play paintball and it wasnt my best of days. So now hes
ratting on me on how i suk and his frends are the best. (my brother
and his frends are ppl whov paintballed about 6 times in there lives
and are rich and have bought ions with nitro and eggs and that stuff)
so now im thinking of playing alone for a while to i can get alot
better than i am now (ive been playing for a while now maybe 5
months) but i wanted to have your advice on how u became an
experienced and better player. Are taking big risks in paintball good
to do? and i was thinking of playing with experienced players but i
wasnt sure because i dont see how i would learn much when i see a
splat on my mask of the break. or get bunkered or shot fairly quikly
so is it worth playing with more experienced players? I want to shove
paint into my brothers and his frends faces and have fun doing
it when they see that i really am good. because after all having fun
is wat paintball is all about but my brothers comments arent working
thanks for your help

suck it up. everyone sucks at first. What are you playing? speedball? woodsball? The problem I used to have was popping out from behind bunkers. You want to expose as little of yourself and your gun as possible. peek out with your face, but not your gun, and if you see a shot, pop your gun out, you know?

well, being too reserved doesnt necessarily help. take risks, but only if you think they have a chance of working. Big deal if he gives you a hard time, tell him to screw off.

if you don't' like playing with your brother and his friends, then find other people to play with. you're what, 12? you've got plenty of time to learn how to play

Speedball is all about game breaker moves, which require "risk" as you put it. Big brothers give little brothers a hard time, thats just how it goes.

playing against better players (or just watching them) is a good way to get better. If you pay attention and see what they do and how they beat you and use it yourself, you should improve.

Playing with better players is best thing to do and ask them to give tou pointers most real plaers will help you learn the game. Thats if the are real players with a love of the sport.I was new player and asked alot of questions. Now I work in a paintball store and teach others players how to play better. Tell your brother that blood is thicker then water and to get bent.JUST ASK AND YOU WILL LEARN.

Play with more experienced people than your brother. They most likely wont be dicks to you like he is being and you might have fun.
And you're probably going to end up getting better than your bro. Especially if all he does is play people who just played for their first time and say they suck.

Yeah I have no idea why this thread is still alive, but I'll put my input in on it.
As far as I'm concerned, you have a brother who is very annoying. I've come accross many people who think they're the Sh**. No offense to your brother or anything, but yeah, just practice, watch videos on youtube and all that, then save up money, get a nice gun, and PWN his A**.

Try watching these videos for tips: http://webdog.specialopspaintball.co...video/tipclip/
Play with more experienced players, sure you'll get wiped up in the beginning, but you'll learn from your mistakes, get to the field when it opens, and dont leave till closing time, you'll learn from your mistakes really quickly, talk to the experienced players, and ask them what your doing wrong, and what you can improve on, talk to the ref's they'll help. just keep playing walk-on games and you'll get better. you can also work on your own with drills, play at the target range, practice snap shooting, and dont get too cocky, then stick it to your bro, then you'll be even, don trash talk, let your actions and your playing speak for you. good luck man.

go out practice...play your heart out...and at the end of the day if you have palyed hard you have gotten better...don't let your brother get you down...it's his "job" to be mean...he is after all your older brother...
edit:if you trash talk more experienced players before you play them...they will wipe the field with you then laugh and not help you at all...
