IONs are light, shoot good, problem free (if you learn to take it apart), average gas efficiency, very upgradeable, affordable, fast, accurate, what more could you want? The only upgrade you need is an on/off (to save about $120 down the road)and your set with a top notch begginer gun. Some people hate the feedneck but its not big deal, its a little big and it grips tight, just take out the bottom two o-rings in the feedneck and it will have a perfect grip.

I think I've settled for a Promaster cause I'll prolbaly keep it for about 2 years or at least till I can get an actual job and drivers license(Im only 14). And as for a better N2 tank I would love to have a 4500psi tank(money Isn't a problem...lol....I sold my PSP bundle today for $325) but I'm going to be filling my own tanks because I would have to get my mom to drive about 70-80 miles for HPA and you can only get 3kpsi scuba tanks.I think im gonna check with the fire department tomorrow though cause I've heard they fill tanks sometimes.

teh fire dpt fills co2 tanks, not compressed air tanks. Check out local dive shops.

opisite for my town 3 of my friends ions got all messed up while my promaster still runs perfect. I'm guessing he was playing around with it put the bolt in upside down and is not like wtf?

I have a promaster and love it. Ive shot plenty of ions stock and ions with 100's put in them. Im only one ive seen at my local field with a promaster but tons of people always ask about it and when i let them hold it are usually amazed not just kids with spyders but lots of ion owners. Also ive gotten a few people willing to buy this for there backup. People with dm's but i just got it then so didnt wanna sell. As for resale Promasters used go for around 200+ one ebay. Idk but that sounds pretty good considering they are 250 new. the 200+ is with asa and macroline of course. Promaster is great gun imo better then ion. Of course some people will disagree but for anyone having trouble deciding shoot both and check out the features of gun see what feels more comfy and choose 1 u liked better. For me promaster ftw.

The Ion is NOT a bad marker, but what gives it such a bad rep is people like you. I do not like the Ion, and I'll be the first to say that it's mostly not because of gun, but because of the way people act who own it.

Its says you have an Ion in your sig. Thats why I assumed you own one. Even if you are selling it.

no, the only thing this has proved is that you know nothing about paintball,know nothing about the etiquette on this forum, and that i've been high on vikodin all day and laughing at your posts

i hate ions, refuse to use one. but that doesn't mean im dumb enough to think they suck, or that some POS icd gun is better than them.

of course thats just an opinion, the only fact is that you have no real paintball experience, have no idea what your babbling about and disrepect people who know more than you could even fathom

You're a moron, I'm sorry. In Tom's sig he's selling an ION Blackheart board. If you knew what that is, maybe you'd prevent yourself from looking like such a dumbass. Also, Ion's are better than Promasters becasue (I can't believe I'm actually doing this)

- They're lighter.
- They're cheaper (buy used and upped and like omfg, it''l be better than a promaster!)
- They're easier to fix and find parts for.
- They sell easily (relative to the Promaster).
- If you ask ANY well seasoned player, they'll say Ion.
- They feel just the same if not better (most of you probably don't even know what that means).

Olddfatbulldog, good post for the most part. I'll agree than the Ion is lighter, more upgradable ,and parts are all over for them. But is dosn't shoot as fast or as nice as a Promaster.

Price wise they are almost the same now. A new promaster is now like $230 on actionvillage. Not a big enough difference to upgrade an Ion any amount.

As for the Ion blackheart board, because he has it, I assumed he has or at least had an Ion. Why else would he have an aftermarket board for it?

At least you put facts behind most of your points. It holds a lot more value that way.

I'm a well seasoned player and I'd raither have a Promaster.

wtf happened to this thread. in responce to stuff said below i have responce for it.
Ion= lighter by like .2 pounds? can u even feel that. And its that much lighter because plastic shells unlike promaster who doesnt have plastic parts.

They prolly cheaper because smart parts is huge and so many newbs buy em that they make a ****load even though they are a lil cheaper. Btw lasoya promaster at 219.99 right now..

Promaster doesnt have as much upgrades avalible because it doesnt need many if any unlike ion. Ion needs 100's of upgrades to make it compare to higher end guns.
