Looking to BUY a field
Well the time has came that I am sick and tired of playing a bastard child of rec/speedball so I have decide that I am going to buy a field. I have a acre that is clear and pretty level with good rye grass was plainning to build a home there but anyway I am wondering how big of a field I can put on it and how much it will cost. I have just a hand full of friends I trust to play and not to get hurt and sue me.
thanks
Kevin

You will need Air Bunkers that are durable, netting, and will need to clean the field/bunkers every so often. I would also invest in a Chronograph. I would guess since you have the land and everything, it would probably run for about 2.5k-3k to actually make it. Maybe more though :/.

if it's on his property, he doesn't need netting.
you can get a hand held chrono for dirt cheap by the way.

Right, he dosn't need the netting, but if he wants to make a real course he should have it.
He'll also need to get posts put in to hold the netting up. You can do it your self, just dig a hole(at least 3 feet deep) get some poles and dry cement mix and there you go.
Also if he wants it to be more of a real feild he will want a real chrono not the cheap hand held ones.

O yea and from my experiance with the feild I help set up, If it is at all possible for you to get a tractor with a loader to smooth out the land, do it. But when you do it, try to leave the feild crested (meaning slightly higher down the center)that way water will shed off the feild and not soak into it as much. Just an idea.

Okay thanks for all the inputs keep them coming. First I have thought of netting and it is one of my concerns but at this point I am going more for the bunkers. Second the field has a natural crest to it so that is done plus I do have a tractor with a loader and a box spreader. Third I have 3 scuba tanks I can feel off of and CO2 I don't really know must of my freinds use nitro plus ace hardware is about 2 mile from where I level. Fourth I am have a buddy that can get me a chrono at rep. prices. Is there any laws I should be aware of before I do this? I have played here before and nothing was said.

Are you talking about makeing a buisness or just haveing your own field? Because if it is just a field for you and your friends you dont need netting if it is for public use you will need netting, insurance and the whole lot.. by the sounds of it i think your just talking about for yourself... then there would be no point for netting unless the land is real close to a house or something...

make sure you have EVERY freaking permit known to man, building, firearms, parking, WHATEVER, they have been shutting down fields left and right around here for all kinds of stupid and trivial reasons

If your just north of Austin then you aren't far from Tactical Paintball. It's Exit 637 on I10
120 acres of land, 36 building city, airball field, Vietnam style firebase, Vietnam hooch village, starship troopers "whiskey outpost" style base, and lots of land. Pretty cheap too. 15$ for all day play and fills. THis includes rentals if you need them. Then its field paint at about 50$ a case.
